Fury has taken a bit of stick over the last few days but give him his due,he's still the second best heavyweight in the world (AJ takes a good bronze medal) and only Lennox Lewis finishes ahead of him as number one British heavy in my opinion.

    Thoughts?

Lennox is levels above H2H and definitely with resume. As for 2 and 3 we’ll really have to wait until they’re both retired to judge this. Hypothetically, If Fury loses an Usyk rematch and AJ picks up the IBF belt to become a three time heavyweight champion, AJ’s legacy on paper will be far greater. Not a big fan of either man but unless they have a big Wembley H2H, Joshua’s resume will crap all over Fury’s.

I don't mean to be cheeky but that's not a high bar.

The only thing I’m sure about is Lewis is no 1.
I’ve never been 100% sure about who’s better out of Fury and Joshua tbh. Different styles, both world champions. Fury moves better, AJ hits harder. So much to analyse about the pair of them, not enough time so I’ll pass on who’s the better of the two at the moment.

But just to put the cat amongst the pigeons…what about prime Joe Bugner? Anybody for big Frank? The unbeaten Horace Notice anybody? The giant, hard hitting Gary Mason? Or the dancing hitman Henry Akinwande?

Being totally serious and honest AJ and TF don’t have much competition except probably from Bugner who held his own against some of the 1970s ATGs.

Henry cooper number 1 for me just for the fact that he flattened Cassius clay (Muhammed Ali). Obviously he didn't win and the shenanigans in the corner by clays team bought him time but this rubber stamps him for me what a legend.

There is no number 2. This has been a problem throughout Fury’s career, he gets given statuses that are unearned. It’s led to people being shocked that he lost to a far more skilled and accomplished fighter.

What about Bob Fitzsimmons ? Surely hes in the race for being top 2 ?

I also think Joshua vs Fury need to fight to actually decide who is the best British Heavyweight of this era.

    Their resumes are actually comparable......

Fury and Joshua both beat Wladimir except Joshua stopped him although in a tougher fight.

Fury beat Wilder twice but Joshua beat Parker who recently dominated Wilder.

Fury stopped Whyte but so did Joshua both with uppercuts aswell from memory.

Fury had very competitive fights vs Ngannou and Wallin who Joshua destroyed with ease.

Fury recently lost to Usyk and so did Joshua.

So yeah you can see my point their resumes are comparable except Joshua probably has more filler with wins over Takam, Ruiz, Povetkin, etc.

So they still need to fight to decide it for me.

The 3 time world champ has such a paper feel to it considering the undisputed champ at the time has to drop the belt. Nobody would consider AJ a world champ.

It's either Fury or Joshua for the number 2. We still don't know at this point.

We know boxing doesn’t work like this but one thing is for certain and one thing people are forgetting is Fury gave Usyk 100 times more worries than Joshua did in two fights.

Good comments from all. I am a fan of Cooper,Bugner and Bruno but I rate Fury higher.
