Klitschko was a truly awful heavyweight champion that brought a dark cloud over the heavyweight division for many years with his excessive holding and grappling and the incredibly boring jab and grab. He kept his title but it was not pretty and was far from noble.

Tyson Fury could of probably quite effectively used the Klitschko jab and grab to of won against Usyk (it was my fear that he would) but clearly chose not to. A fighting man. You absolutely know it’s what Klitschko would of done (and did on so many occasions).

What a dark cloud his reign was on the heavyweight division, especially now in retrospect.

Agreed. But to cut him some slack he didn't really have much competition for the majority of his reign. His fight with Joshua was a classic. Goes to show what a difference it makes fighting somebody who wasn't a chunky midget he could just lean all over.

I think he'd be much better value if he was born 10 years later.

Klitschko was dominant. Yes he was also boring but that sometimes comes as a byproduct of dominance.

Another Fury knobs slobber. When are you gonna realize, Fury wasn't that guy. Fighting man? He ran from the Wlad rematch. Held the division up for almost 3 years and had terrible title defenses. He could have rematched Wlad, went on to AJ, then Wilder in that 3 year vacation. Now that is a fighting man putting his stamp on the division. Instead we get Wallin and Ngannou type guys. Then when he fights a skilled pro, he gets whooped. Usyk is the real fighting man. And he quickly exposed the frauds.

Did you miss the second and third Wilder fights? Fury straight up abused the clinch.

Klitschko was a midget pusher and didn't have the guts to risk it all to find a way into the Fury fight KNOWING he'd be made to miss and gas out...and he still started to gas in the later rounds despite doing nothing. Truly pathetic. Headbutts. High heels. Rigged scales. Rigged canvas. Rigged referee taking points.

He was very good and dominant but yeah his reign was a boring one, part of that was he was so dominant but it can't be ignored he didn't have a fan friendly style.

He had two big fights during his reign which could have been used to define his career, unfortunately they did just that. The clinch fest vs Povetkin and the timid display against an out classed Haye left a lot of fans with a more negative view of Wlad, which is a shame, but understandable as boxing in the end is an entertainment business and in that regard Wlad wasn't ever going to catch the casual fans hearts and minds.

Luckily things changed with this era, with Joshua's ability to promote himself, Fury the mad character he is and even Wilder playing the part of a heel all made this era much more dramatic and entertaining and restored the heavyweight division as the marquee division. Then of course we have Usyk who's ability to move up and dominate has just been incredible.

He didnt chose not to jab and grab Usyk didn't let him. He tried multiple times but Usyk was too slippery and was even able to push him off a few times.

Seems like if Klitschko was so awful Fury would have done the contractual rematch instead of faking injuries then having to be put in the looney bin. Fury was so scared of the rematch he had to be institutionalized

Exactly. Been reading a lot about how fury apparently “chose” not to do certain things in the fight. Usyk is stronger than he looks and knows how to work in the clinch.

Even against Wlad in their first fight Fury ran and slapped all night. Fury landed 86 punches in 12 rounds. Until these horrible heavyweights came around recently , I never seen a heavyweight land so few punches in 12 rounds. To put this to perspective the least amount of punches a old George Foreman landed in 12 rounds doing his comeback was 180 punches against a 28 year old undefeated Holyfield when Foreman was 42.

But Usyk isn't a real fighting man at heavyweight or cruiser weight. This dude is pushing 40 and only has a little over 20 fights. He rarely gets in the ring. At heavyweight who did he expose? Anthony Joshua? Andy Ruiz already knocked out Joshua first. Daniel Dubois? Joe Joyce already shattered this guys face first. Tyson Fury? Everybody knew Tyson Fury was a fraud and this guy should of had a few losses on his record already.

Usyk fanboys are even worse than Fury fanboys

    It's a good point.
We would have seen the return of the 'leaping octopus' technique used in the Povetkin fight.
This rare grappling method involves not just grappling when the opponent closes in, but literally leaping forward to grapple them even when they are out of punching range.

The fact Wlad had more power than Fury makes his style even more disgusting. For example, he dropped Povetkin with a short LH and hurt him badly another time, yet STILL wouldn't fight him properly and go for the clean KO. You can't make this up.

But Wlad is a protected creature because people fall for his fake nice-guy garbage. If Fury fought like him imagine the fallout. Even with their particular fight, Fury is solely blamed for the lack of action when in fact Wlad was the KO-artist on the other side who wouldn't risk leading the attack, but somehow wasn't responsible because his spoiled wife was feeling sad or something.

Exposed Fury. No doubt left after the ass whoopin. As far as Usyk fanboys being bad. Perhaps. But that's what these site are good for, people coming on and talking trash. Trash talk is the salt in the soup.
