Probably because he doesn’t seem to be able to get his boxers in big fights so bangs on about sparring instead. Fair observation I reckon.
Billy is sound on here yet certain posters try to drive him away, makes no sense! He’s a top trainer with many accolades, we talk about boxing he lives it…..successfully!
I'll say in advance, I like and respect Nelson as a trainer and I like and respect Bakole as a fighter and I like them both as a team. However, Nelson still excuses the defeat to Michael Hunter because of "circumstances" and Bakole "should never have been in the ring that night" etc. etc. The fight was about 5 or 6 years ago and he still persists with saying this without elaborating further and he never gets questioned on what these "circumstances" were. I think they should accept the defeat gracefully and give Hunter credit for the win, or if there if there is a legit explanation then let's hear it. Another case of the interviewers unwilling to ask the questions they should be.
As long as it's McCart doing the interviewing, we will get nothing of substance from anyone involved. If Billy ever ended up on Talksport maybe the issue would be pressed a bit
I do question why Bakoke isn’t involved in these big Saudi cards over someone like Miller. Either everyone is scared of facing big Martin or his management simply aren’t doing their job. His career and profile have stalled massively
Or just box anyone of note maybe? Try and stay active and on boxing fans radar. Better than saying over and over again that he would batter everyone and if he is that dangerous don’t let him spar up and comers who are also going to become money opponents. People aren’t going to box you in the pros if you’ve caved their heads in, in sparring. I don’t want the above to come across as critical, but it’s a brutal business and can be a very short career. You have to get the opportunities for your boxer, otherwise why are they with you.
with respect mate they are very personal family issues and are private, that’s why they never have nor will be explained. Thank you for your support
Fair enough mate. Even that is more than I've heard you say on public record. It always just sounded a bit too vague, like it could have been anything, from an injury to personal issues and seemed to throw shade over Hunter's win for no credible reason. It's the best win on Hunter's record that's got better over time. It took a good fighter to beat Bakole and Hunter was at that stage. Looking forward to Bakole's next fight getting announced. Can you drop any hints who it's against?
So why doesn’t Bakole rematch Hunter then? As he is obviously struggling for fights too. That will soon put that blemish on his career to bed……
