The era isn't strong enough and Usyk doesn't have enough time to make that possible. Plus, greatest HW of all time is way more of a public perception thing that's out of your hands, no matter how talented and dominant you are.

That's true, it depends on the criteria you're judging boxers on. I'm thinking more of the technical ability they possess, the talent, skill and their accomplishments, in terms of titles. In that regard, it's hard to go against Usyk in my opinion, since he's won everything now, and he's the unified champion, and it's the manner in which he's done it, unifying both the cruiserweight division and now the heavyweight division as well. Of course you can look at guys like Joe Louis, and their crazy records, and think they're the best of all time because of that, and I wouldn't argue against that, but in terms of technical ability, I just don't think you can compare him to Usyk.

Head to head a great challenge for many, but not even on the radar of top heavyweight ATG rankings due to weak resume… If you’re fighting in a lesser era, you’ve got to at least have longevity and dominant performances on your side to be considered an ATG (ie. Klitschko, Golovkin)

I generally don’t rate guys who are still active, and find it best to wait till 3-5 years after retirement. I imagine he will be looked at as a top 20 guy, potentially top 15 when this era is evaluated in the context of history.

    Never undisputed
Absurd amount of deducted points, dubious calls, unnecessary delays, and scandals.
Not a very thick resume for an all time resume.

IMO Tyson had his time in the sun but on the ATG scale he's closer to say a Witherspoon than a Louis. A very good champion in his own right but not GOAT conversation good.

Fury’s resume sucks. Fact is Whyte is the 3rd best name on the Resume.

I would say probably just outside the top 20 his resume is paper thin.

I would compare Fury's career to Bowe's except Bowe actually beat an ATG moving up from Cruiserweight in Holyfield. Bowe also convincingly beat Holyfield in their 1st fight and stopped him in their 3rd fight.

Whilst Usyk is a great talent and an ATG hes not an ATG at Heavyweight yet Holyfield is rated above him at Heavyweight. And yet Fury clearly lost to the much smaller Usyk and probably should've been stopped in the 9th round.

So yeah overall Fury doesn't even rate above Bowe to me probably as I said just outside the 20.

I think he's in the same area as Bowe myself, the only difference is Fury's time at the top, but the actual times he fought since beating Klitschko was pathetic.

If Fury would've beat Usyk I would've rated him over Bowe but since he lost he goes below Bowe in the Heavyweight rankings for me.

    10-15

If he'd have won a couple more points or stopped Usyk when he had him hurt people would be saying top 5 now. It's all small margins

He just boxed at the highest possible level for the highest possible honours in boxing and lost in a close fight to the best fighter of this era. There really is no shame at all.

34 not 35 huh ? What a revelation. Looks like I’ll have to change my whole opinion.
