Many regard Muhammed Ali as the greatest boxer of all time. Just wondering, which boxers of recent times do you think would beat Ali, and why?
How about the man of the moment Usyk? Pretty self-explanatory why he'd be able to pose a threat to literally anyone in boxing history.
Sheesh, another thread on a worn out topic. Ali wasn't the best on a P4P basis in boxing history. SRR & Duran are two examples. H2H he losses to many 2000s HWs, likely to some in the 90s. He wasn't even dominant in the 70s going through hell in six fights vs. Frazier & Norton. Ali long ago became some sort of meme. Let Ali RIP. Many regard Muhammed Ali as the greatest boxer of all time. Only casuals and peeps living in the past off nostalgia fumes (and worse reasons). Just say NO to these threads.
Well I am a casual-ish boxing fan, and I have seen people call Ali the greatest several times which is why I asked the question.
Over the 15 round distance, a lot of recent heavyweights would be out on their feet with exhaustion against a prime Ali.
Pre-exile Ali? Nobody. The best of post-exile Ali? Usyk would be competitive. Lewis might be able to do it. Holyfield would give him a Thrilla-style death match but might not come out on top. Prime Tyson could probably do it.
