Given Canelo's success in this era and overall resume, who do y'all think he can beat out of this list? I put mostly old school LHW fighters (with a few exceptions) since back then they fought closer to their walk-around weight, and Canelo's fight night weight is typically LHW-Cruiser range so would be fair. Bonus question: Which of these fighters would be too much for Canelo and give him his first loss by TKO/KO?
He doesn't beat any of them. You need a bigger level down at light heavy than those guys for canelo to win. And I actually don't rate canelo as a supermoddleqeight at that level either. At middleweight you can put him in qith this calibre for sure
I wouldn't favor Canelo against anyone on this list...............in fact some of these names would IMO have Canelo in absolute Hell.
I don't think Canelo can be ko'd. I think he can be beaten up though by: Spinks, Toney and Matthew Muhammad. How they all hit, they're all real hitters and grind guys down. . I think Calzaghe and Qawi would press him severely and drown him/Canelo's engine isn't the best. I don't think they would cause real dmg to him......Eddie Mustafa I also think he'd be in danger of being outclassed but not really damaged. I just think all those guys are bad stylistic matchups for him, the worst being Spinks and Toney (assuming Toney really came in to fight of course).
Loses to all badly. Tiny for LHW with overrated power and vastly overrated skills. Assuming he isn't allowed to fix any of these fights, he gets beaten up by all these men and in some cases stopped (the Spinks Jinx comes to mind). Not enough skill or power and too small and slow to trouble any of these men imo.
I think he loses to all the four Kings although it would depend on what Duran turns up he could outpoint duran He beats benitez
