Official for June twenty-ninth in Miami Beach headlining on ESPN. WBO super lightweight title at stake, López's second defense. Claggett is ranked #10 by the WBO and holds their International Championship belt.
Claggett is basically a step adjacent from journeymen level sent in as a sacrifice to that idiot and his Fathers ego. Lopez By KO6
I wish Teo would split with Top Rank already and sign with Matchroom or GB where there are actual good fights for him at 140 rather than being fed scraps by TR and having them try to trip him up pretty often for his attempts to defect. If he got his dad out of his corner, used his jab at all, and was able to hold the centre of the ring rather than leaping around the ring like a frog on speed, then I think he could pretty easily rule the roost of 140 and get back his standing as a P4P guy. He certainly has the athleticism and counter punching ability to do so. Unfortunately though, that won't happen I don't think, and Teo will keep getting crappy fights as him and his dad slowly unravel into insanity together.
Claggett will prove a willing dance partner, which means he'll unwittingly provide Teo with ample opportunity to land something spiteful. Teo TKO 10.
Just realized - while the WBO is the weakest of the Big 4 alphabet titles and by itself doesn't really matter, we are living in a timeline where a single fluke cuts TKO victory could give us Ring & lineal champ Steve Claggett (both of those crowns will be on the line).
Calling Matias soft and one dimensional, why doesn’t he put his money where his mouth is and fight him if it’s that easy?
