How much success could Briedis have had if he moved up to heavyweight in his prime?

He’s very underrated and past his prime now, and gave a world class fighter in Opetaia nightmares in both fights at nearly 40, and arguably beat Usyk in Usyk’s prime, the guy has atg skill, but never got to prove himself to atg status, we all know he’d’ve beat Opetaia in his prime, he’s so fluid and can explode into attacks and from defence to offence in an instant and is unpredictable in the way he sets up attacks, how could he have done if he moved up to heavyweight in his prime?

Usyk is the best likes this.

Prime Briedis could beat AJ and Wilder, has all the attributes, great boxer, great power, tough as nails, one of the best chins in boxing

Don't think I've ever seen Briedis hurt

He did fight at heavy and got as far as beating Charr, but he couldn't get big fights because he was too good, so moved down.

That tells you what you need to know.

Probably quite a lot if he got the fights. He's got serious power (look at how he hurts Opetaia every time they fight) and elite-level skill. He did beat Charr in such a convincing fashion that none of the big name HWs would take a chance on him.

I don't think he could quite do what Usyk did, I think Usyk had an off night against him and I also think that he might struggle to close the gap against the bigger too HWs without Usyk level footwork, but for sure he'd be a force.

    Breidies is an atg cruiser.
He has it all, one punch power, stamina, ring IQ and platinum chin and a mean streak. The only weakness is that he tends to fight to the level of his opposition. Imo he would be a top 10 heavy without a problem and could beat some good guys. I don't think that he beats fury or joshua (usyk of course also), but everyone else could lose to breidies

In his prime he would beat Wilder easily, and Wilder was WBC champ

Yeah after Charr and the difficulties he posed for Usyk, he was ultra-high risk and low reward.

I think that's why he started messing about chasing Jake Paul as he simply wasn't getting the fights made and got frustrated.

I think he would have slotted into the current top 10 pretty easily and gives anyone in the top 10 fits - probably even now at 39.

After he won the Super 6 when Usyk moved up, he should have moved up and tried to get good fights at HW - would have been awesome to see Usyk and Breidis go again at HW.

Tbh I'm not actually sure who I'd favour in the current top 10 over prime Breidis...
