Which era was great for a particular division without having a dominant champ?

Personally i think the late 80's and early 90's for middleweight, having guys like Nunn, RJJ, Toney, Julian Jackson, Graham etc. Although no one dominated for a long time, this was a hell of an era.

The mid-late 70's at light heavyweight too.

The Four Kings era is the prime case.

A real great era, not because you had no dominant champion, but because you actually had FOUR dominants champions.

Duran, Hagler, Hearns and Leonard, and also Arguello, each one could have dominated alone. It was the lucky stars that all those ATG were in the same time and the same pkace.

The late 1910's and early 20's at BW didn't have a dominant champion, but did contain Pete Herman, Memphis Pal Moore, Kid Williams, Joe Lynch and even Jimmy Wilde fought there.

Whilst they were all dominant contenders, neither Jofre, Olivares or Zarate were long reigning, dominant BW champions in 60s and 70s, but together with Rose, Harada, Herrera, Castillo and Medel, it was an immensely strong era at BW.

The 80’s Featherweights. Pedroza, Sanchez, Nelson. Who’d be champion if it wasn’t for the alphabets? I know Nelson fought Sanchez but he was at the beginning of his career. McGuigan. Then there was the time in middleweight when there was Nunn, Jackson, McCallum spilling over to Super middleweight with Jones Jr to name just a few.

The late 1920's - 1930's Welterweights. After a while each guy lost the title in his very first defence, people thought the WW title was jinxed. Yet the guys who won it were excellent.

    Barney Ross
    Jimmy McLarnin
    Young Corbett III
    Mickey Walker
    Jackie Fields
    Young Jack Thompson
    Lou Brouillard
    Joe Dundee
    Pete Latzo

    I mean, come on.

    Hi Guys.
Not sure if this era exactly fits the bill, but the 1930s Middleweights were a fine group of fighters:
    Gorilla Jones
    Freddie Steele
    Billy Soose
    Micker Walker
    Dave Shade
    Marcel Thill
    Vince Dundee
    Ken Overlin
    Fred Apostoli
    Al Hostak
    Lou Brouillard
Most a champ of sorts at some time in that decade.
    stay safe guys.

Early 1980s Super Featherweight division was pretty good after Arguello moved up to LW. You had Bobby Chacon, Boza Edwards, Bazooka Limon, Rolondo Navarrete, Hector Camacho.

Late 1980s post Hagler MW division was stacked with fighters such as Mike McCallum, Sumbu Kalambay, Julian Jackson, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Herol Graham, Steve Collins.
