This content is protected Seemed more than obvious this was bound to happen after Errol jumped in the ring and challenged Fundora. First title defense for Sebastian, and first fight for Spence at 154, without his trainer Derrick James and after the Crawford beatdown.
Fundora by stoppage IMO. Unlike the Tszyu fight, I doubt Fundora will leverage his height and reach. I think he will fight Spence close-quarters (where Fundora is most comfortable), and I think he surely has the power to clip and stop Spence.
Spence by KO. Fundora is very easy to hit taking into account how tall he is. He will be even more easy to hit once Spence's body work starts taking effect.
It´s going to be fun regardless of the outcome as these two are made for each other. But IMO Spence is going to be in for a shock as for the first time he doesn´t have the size advantage. Add to that the brutal loss to Crawford, his age and the general wear and tear; and I think Fundora is going to take the decision here. Fundora will survive the early onslaught and grind out a close decision victory.
I think it all comes down to if Spence isn't completely shot and has recovered from the beating that he took from Crawford. If Spence is close to what he was before the Crawford fight then we might have ourselves a fun scrap. Fundora will need to use his height and reach to his advantage to box against him much like he did against Tszyu.
Fundora might be too much for Spence now. He got a serious beatdown against Crawford and Fundora is all offense, I can see Spence getting stopped again if he can't hurt Sebastian.
I was one of the first to say that Spence would never be the same after the car crash, and I maintain that position. He's not the same guy that had that great war with Porter and he's up against it facing a battle tested 154 pounder coming off a great win.
