Who’s your pick? Walcott lit Rocky up, outclassed him technically, but got starched in the end. Would the same thing happen here?

Bob Fitz was a true ATG and a man ahead of his time. Won lineage in three different weight classes and beat some bigger men than himself. The one hold up for me in picking him over Walcott is whether or not he’s ever seen a man of Jersey’s style. Not totally sure how Bob would react to it

Walcott was very lucky to get the era he got with the peak he experienced later in his career. Many criticise Marciano ad nauseam for facing a generation of fighters on the decline but Walcott suffers from that same problem also (admittedly to a lesser degree but still): Louis was declining heavily by their first fight, Charles was on the decline for even his first meeting with Walcott but was damn sure miles away from his best days by the time of the third fight, and even Joey Maxim was past his best when he met Walcott. Walcott was a very inconsistent fighter and lost to opponents significantly worse than Fitz. Ruby is an ATG for a reason and I think his consistent body attack would probably be poisonous to Walcott's persistent movement since it would slow him down and is the target Ruby would have the most consistent success hitting. I'd pick Fitz by KO in the later rounds.
