Usyk would win every single round, Toney too flat footed and can’t pressure Usyk, he’d by stuck in the corner getting peppered at range and outworked by x100, and wouldn’t be able to get near Usyk.
It is utterly ridiculous to suggest that Usyk would win every round when he lost rounds against Cruiserweights that were much limited than Toney (Bellew, Huck). It is also ridiculouis to make out a master boxer like Toney to be a one dimensional plotter.
Bellew was up on points because Usyk was sleepwalking, as he occasionally does against dramatically inferior opponent. Then he woke up and knocked him out.
He may have. Or he has issues with slicksters before figuring them out and knocking them out. He wont knock Toney out though.
Usyk will beat Toney, of this I have no doubt. Toney had better success against guys that loaded up their shots and tried to blow him out of there. Toney was often able to avoid these punches and accurately return fire. Usyk does not do this; he uses a high volume, medium power approach where he doesn't get himself off balance. Moreover he's probably faster than Toney which will pose additional problems. My feeling is that he would handsomely outwork Toney over the stretch. Usyk on points.
I agree that he wouldn't knock JT out as well. I also think Uysk would win this convincingly for reasons already mentioned but one more would be he wouldn't give James a chance to counter him. Uysk would use his speed and angles to score points but he would not stay inside for long where James was dangerous. Uysk's greatest strength was to exploit an opponents weakness and James struggled with guys that didn't stand in front of him later in his career. Both are special fighters but James was different when he climbed in weight. I much prefer the 160/168 version that had speed, movement and power. As good as he was against Jirov and Holyfield, it was not his natural weight.
Why no Poll? Because it would be only THE BLADE 2 & a couple of other mindless fanboys instinctively voting for Toney.
