Usyk clearly won the first fight but I believe Fury is definitely capable of winning the rematch. If Fury wins, there will have to be a decider though.

Fury's biggest problem was he let Usyk be the aggressor. He let Usyk dictate the fight and when and where the exchanges would take place. If I was his trainer, I would have told him between rounds "Do not let this man take control of this fight". The problem was his ignorant father was in his ear the whole time telling him that he was winning the fight. When anybody with a boxing brain knows that if you go backwards and get nailed repeatedly with clean punches then you are losing the fight.

Sorry bro, your original, unwavering position left you NO room but to agree that Fury’s clowning didn’t disadvantage him.

All you could’ve or should’ve done was agree that NO, Fury’s clowning didn’t take from his potential best, performance.

You, IN FACT, stated that the clowning “advantaged” him, no more, no less.

Instead, during this very discussion, you’ve invented an inexplicable, negative cause/effect in relation to the allegedly “successful” clowning of the earlier rounds Fury (cause) to the not so successful performance of the non clowning, later rounds Fury (effect).

Back to squad one - Fury’s clowning did not compromise his performance nor lose him the fight.

When Fury clowned in the corner, The REAL TIME commentary stated that Usyk was letting his hands go and that Fury was “trying” to look like Muhammad - that’s all she wrote OR all they spoke -

NOTHING said about the right hand that “Fury landed - which was nothing to write home about, actually.

Also, NOTHING said about the clowning being a strategy and a successful one at that - because it wasn’t, on both counts.

The clowning was JUST for show. A feint or other such legit move, if successful, by definition, isn’t clowning.

Usyk was not all led or deceived by Fury’s actual clowning, full stop. Olek duly ignored Fury in that regard - all through the pref fight pressers and during the actual fight.

Usyk was stalking, moving ever forward already - there was no “luring”. Olek was coming into Fury anyway to belt him, from the very get go.

At the post fight presser, Fury said he didn’t know if it “looked like it”, but stressed that he was clowning, having fun in there - a sell job, both during and after the fight.

AND, Fury said nothing about the clowning being a strategy, let alone it being a successful one.

The clowning was purely intended to imply/sell that Fury wasn’t bothered by Usyk - but he clearly was bothered, being put under extreme pressure and still catching hard punches even during the rounds he won.

Did I mention that deliberately holding the ropes is actually illegal? Yes, I did - and it’s illegal for obvious reasons. it was illegal when Ali did and it’s still illegal today.

Funny that the ropes (and corner post) came into play significantly later in the fight - and very much to Fury’s unjustified advantage - per a dodgy or, if you like, inept ref.

And repeat, Usyk was also fatigued at the 4th round - little leg, body and head movement, so a bit more vulnerable as opposed to Fury suddenly finding a way to “outbox”’him substantively.

Fury might’ve won rounds 4-6 but he certainly wasn’t getting by unscathed and highly premature to suggest that he was taking control of the fight.

Okay, time stamps. All relative to your own first clip. Go to 34:15. Low blow. Brit comment? “Good shot”. Lol.

You then only have to push forward to 34:20. Another, even more flagrant low blow. American commentator said “Way low”. No remonstration or warning from the ref that I could see - and certainly no check on Usyk’s welfare.

However, in that same moment, the ref inexplicably chose to call Usyk’s cut (caused in the previous round) as being due to a punch.

No it wasn’t. It was caused by a head clash. One round earlier.

American commentator comment re the ref’s late call on the cut “One round LATE on that call”

Great ref, eh? Awful. But worse was to come….especially the ref playing obvious block to what should’ve absolutely been a TKO in round 9.

Go to 34:43. Another, deliberately stray, borderline shot - quite an amazing feat for a 4 1/2” taller fighter to pull off time and again, against his so called Midget MW opponent who actually wears his trunks exactly where they should sit - unlike “hitch em high” Fury.

Fury clearly trying to pile those low shots in to illegally damage and put Olek off his game - it didn’t work, but still not a single warning for it. Brilliant strategy.

Here’s a short video of those low blows also, for convenient isolation: -

Holding and hitting. There were several instances, here’s one: -

Go to 37.00. Fury deliberately slapping with the open left glove, letting it hang out there, and then holding Usyk’s head with that left glove for the right uppercut - and then, after that, pushing Usyk’s head away with the heel of his left glove - foul tactics.

For mine, Usyk was leading 5-3 going into round 9 with momentum clearly on his side and momentum that was ever increasing…ultimately, it was not a close fight, and one that should’ve obviously been stopped in round 9 at any rate.

''Probably'' november or december. December will become March, March will become May and before you know it they've aged Usyk out another year, because aging him out for 2 years wasn't enough. Walk away Oleksandr, beat Hrgovic and then retire.

Usyk vs. Parker or Hrgovic in Ukraine should be his last fight...Fury fight should've happened in 2022, Fury wasted time...Fury can buzz off, I wouldn't give him a rematch...He doesn't deserve one...

Very good post. There was plenty of illegal tactics that was adopted by Fury and i was talking about. Holding on to the ropes are completely illegal, yet referee not for once warned Fury. This ain't WWE, this is Boxing. Open glove punch is illegal as well. Holding while hitting - illegal.
And there was plenty of lowblow, which are actually the main shots that slow you down. And there was plenty of hip shots as well from Fury, which are illegal as well.

I just want to add, that you forget the rabbit punches by Fury, and there was plenty of them as well. I remember at least 3-4 occasion where Usyk complained about them.

For this alone, Fury should have eat 1-2 point deduction. Ref was not incompetent, he was just pay actor by team Fury. This was perfectly clear.

Exactly. Like we didn't see that coming already. The rematch is with a October date, if Fury can't make it out, just f*** him and retire.
Hell i would advise him to retire straight away.
This was so obvious, and it's not funny already calling all of the Fury b.c. before they even happen.
Arum even talk about a possible 2025 in the same interview, and we all know what that's mean.

Usyk team should act as a big promoters, and stop letting their man get f**** around.
Pretty much in every fight against UK fighter, they are trying to rob him on the cards, and the cards are way closer than they should be.
Starting from Belliew, through Chisora, through both of AJ fights, and now with Fury.

Thanks. Not to be cute, but I didn’t forget the rabbit punches - I’ve mentioned them in other posts - with Fury and his infractions, you can only include so many in the one post...

Yeah we need a whole new thread about that.
And at this point, as this is essentially in any single Fury fight, let's not forget the blatant elbow on Ngannou and the not given KD in Round 7 against Ngannou, we cannot talk about referee incompetence, but that they are just brought to do a job for Fury.

The guy is the dirtiest cheat in Boxing, it's inane how some people are trying to defend him.
Rabbit punches, clear low blows, open gloves shots, elbows, Cunningham forearm/elbow setup for KO.
    His constant holding and leaning.
And that fraud still managed to lose, even with a 40+ lbs advantage, 19 months younger, 19cm. reach advantage, 16cm. height advantage, can you imagine ? :D No wonder we haven't heard anything from him or his ugly dad.

I don’t know about the dirtiest cheat but it’s apt to point out Fury’s oft practised infractions which some of his fans seem to accept as legit features to his arsenal - even though they’re not.

On the other side of the coin and presenting as the antithesis to Fury. - I would say that Usyk is one of the cleanest fighters I’ve seen - he always holds up his end for a clean boxing match - so at every level, he really is a great advertisement for the sport.

Yes agreed, Usyk's management need to put their foot down on this and look after their man, October is the date, if Fury won't make it to that date tell them to **** off and move on.

If Fury wins he'll run with the narrative he was robbed in the first and be on his bike and back to fighting bums, Chisora 4 wouldn't surprise me.

Who does he move onto though?

Zhang and Wilder and are fighting next week, the winner from that would be interesting but also risky as they both have power, Usyk beats both with ease you would think but they could both knock him out if they connect.

AJ v Hrgovic / Dubois is in touted for after Dubois v Hrgovic so if he was to wait for the winner out of those 3 he'd be waiting until next year anyhow.

So if Fury does screw him around he has to take a risky fight v Zhang or Wilder which probably isn't worth the risk to be fair, although he should beat them both.

Keep hearing fury done well for 7 rounds or he lost cause he allowed usyk to dictate the fight. I think the reality is thats what usyk does.

Joshua was accused of boxing a boxer heavily criticised and advised to bully and fight him. Yet in 24 rounds we,re still waiting. Fury was told to bully and fight usyk and we,re still waiting.

Bellew, chisora and fury and countless others we,re doing well for the first 6 rounds. Yet they all ended up knackered and started making forced mistakes. Its pretty much what usyk does. Such a complete fighter that its really hard not for a fight not to go the way he wants it to go.

The only big plus for fury is....he appeared to hurt usyk a bit through them 3 or 4 good rounds he had. His punches did create a reaction. Sometimes thats all you need....looking like a big ask from here tho.

On the front foot usyk will make him pay with faster combination punching. On the backfoot he,ll tire you out. Fury has to go for it early in the rematch before the fatigue starts to set in. Usyk will outfight him if he does imo...but his best chance is getting something off when being outfought and before fatigue starts to set in.
