Big George never even came off his feet in his comeback, so who do you think possibly stops him? Prime Lewis, Tyson and Liston imo stop the old guy.
Prime Lewis. Yes. if he kept his distance, busted him with the jab and landed some hard jolting right hands without directly trading with him. I think he could but conversely, he could also get caught. Liston Agreed. The Joe Louis that stopped Max Baer as well. Imagine that triple left hook landing. Yes that would cause issues. Tyson could but based on Monte Cox's article, Tyson was petrified of even old George because he grew up watching Foreman-Frazier. I know he is unproven but the Ike Ibeabuchi that fought Tua could potentially do it. He threw so many punches. Though not the heaviest hitter, he carried a punch and the sheer accumulation might do it.
I've never really bought in to that Tyson being scared of George. No doubt he respects him but if he'd have gotten in the ring with him it could easily have turned out like Tyson - Holmes.
Old Foreman withstood Holyfield's combo. And some hooks from Morrison. There aren't many contenders to stop Old Foreman. Peak Lennox Lewis (2000) did not knock out Tua; so I'm not sure he would have stopped Old Foreman. If in 1988 Mike Tyson wouldn't knock out Old Foreman - imho no one would.
Certainly, several of the greats. Dempsey, Louis, Liston, Frazier, Tyson. All great chances to do it.
Lol Liston? A prime Sonny Liston could probably stop the current Foreman but there is no way he was stopping or beating a comeback Foreman.
Lol greats and then you mention the 180 pound Dempsey? Louis struggled to stop far lesser guys than old Foreman. There is no version of Frazier who could beat any version of Foreman. Liston could stop old Foreman? Wait because Liston beat 180 pound Floyd Patterson right? The stuff people type here make me think "Do these people even watch boxing".?
James Tilis something Mike Tyson couldn't do. Razor Ruddock, and the durable Joe HIpp ( Hip was stopped 6 times in his career, once was because of a broken jaw, once because he blew his knee out. Twice because of swelling, Only Morrison and Ross Purrity legit stopped him and it took tons of punches to do so). Also pretty much every person who got in the ring with Mike Tyson and Tommy Morrison stated Morrison's punches were harder. Clearly Tyson was the better fighter but Morrison punched harder.
I'm not buying Lewis would stop Foreman TBH if anything Lewis could possibly be stopped himself. Remember this was the version of Lewis who was behind vs Bruno getting stopped by McCall, and couldn't put away a fairly old Tucker. Lewis was more sloppy more aggressive and his defence was leaky aswell during this period, I think he would have trouble vs Foreman's jab and taking flush punches off Foreman would be a dangerous game aswell. The Lewis that was with Emanuel Steward would fight a cautious fight and out point Big George but I don't see a stoppage.
Wladimir maybe? That is if he didn't gas out like the Purrity fight. His jab and right cross were extremely hard, possibly more so than Lewis.
