Your talking like old Foreman did get hit by Morrison a much bigger puncher than Liston and didn't come close to going down. LIston beat 180 pound Patterson and glass chin Cleveland Williams. That is pretty much his career. I am not talking about people saying nice stuff about the guy because they respected him or because he is dead.

Liston fought Bert Whiterhurst twice and never stopped him but yeah he would stopped a coming backing Foreman who was never dropped. Funny stuff.

I am going to take a wild guess that Ali could have stopped him.

90s Foreman wasn't going to get into the ring with anybody who was likely to stop him. Foreman and his team were careful about who he fought. There was a lot of research that went into picking his opponents. Holyfield was for a title, and at the time GF and his people might have thought that EH, moving up in weight, would be vulnerable to a guy who out weighed him by 40-50 pounds. Many GF opponents were picked because they had substance abuse problems, weren't training, but were willing to take a fight at short notice for a check.

In the early 90s there were some tough, dangerous fighters that many contenders fought. Some of them were Oliver McCall, Lionel Butler, Levi Billups, Mike Hunter, Garing Lane, Jesse Ferguson .... They are conspicuous by their absence from the GF record. Probably all were salivating at the thought of a big pay day and a win over GF to push their careers. But they could either take a punch, deliver a good punch, or box well enough that they didn't qualify as GF opponents.

Young offensive minded Wladimir probably stops old Foreman like he did old Mercer. That was a brutal fight.

Like the Hunter shout out. A improvisational genius, for a heavyweight anyway.

    Muhammad Ali 1964-75.
    Larry Holmes 1978-82.

The above two may not have been big punchers in the raw power sense but they were both very fast (Especially Ali) with their fists and it's quite feasible that they could do what Alex Stewart did and lumpen George's face up and close his eyes, only earlier.

Quite possible, plus I think the Lewis who pulverized Golota, Briggs, and Rahman. That era.
