How's this one go? Interesting that Lopez knocked out a few fighters in quick order than Pedroza had to break down, like Juan Domingo Malvarez, who Lopez took out in 2 in 1978. Pedroza would stop him in 10 2 years later. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Pedroza by stoppage in the 12th on cuts, he'd land enough punches to do damage but Lopez's style is tailor made for Pedroza's elbows , head butts and thumbs to really mess up his face . Be a great scrap no doubt
Yes Lopez had that level firepower and then some , to ko Pedroza At bantamweight , and inexperienced. But when Pedroza went up to featherweight, a much more natural fit for him , and gained the experience, he'd box circles around Lopez , and also Zamora to be honest. Best night vs best night. Neither one of them would have much for Pedroza at featherweight and in his prime.
Sanchez (and to a large extent Chacon) showed that the way to beat Lopez was with angles, turning him all the time. Pedroza exceptional in that way as well, with far more upper body movement than either of those two thrown in. I can't see Lopez being able to find him at all. Pedroza by grinding, late-rounds stoppage.
Yeah buddy, like the back hand, low blow when the going got tough, ask Juan La Porte. Salvador Sanchez never had to resort to those tactics to win, he was calm, cool, and collected.
I assume Pedroza would try the same tactics with Sal. I've never rated Sandy Saddler's wins over Pep high because of his dirty style.
Pedroza was one of those special guys who thrived in the championship rounds. Pedroza wears him down and stops him somewhere in 12-15.
What do you guys think happened against Zamora? Was LaPorte just not built for bantam or was he green, both? I feel like Zamora gets next to zero credit for a pretty solid and devastating win.
