Historically, who is the best light-heavyweight Canelo could beat? Personally, i don't think he could beat Charles, Moore, Conn, Tunney, RJJ and especially not tall punchers like Foster and Spinks. I think prime Kovalev beats him. Do you think he could take Moorer perhaps? Ward?
Micheal Moorer before I believe Bert Cooper made him second guess his approach to boxing was a melted down heavyweight southpaw with a true punch and aggression. That version of Moorer would overwhelm Canelo Alvarez very quickly.
No-one. Canelo beats nobody good at LHW. He's a come forward plodder with no head movement, no footwork, and vastly overrated counter punching and power. He's also tiny for LHW but doesn't use that to his advantage since he stands upright and squared, making him easy to hit. I can't imagine a single top 20 LHW not taking the little Ginger to school.
Someone like Nathan Cleverly or Jurgen Brahmer, both of whom were world class/rated LHWs. Any better than about that quality and Canelo is the underdog, up at 175lbs, imo.
Vicente Rondon took care of him in 1971 to become the WBA Light Heavyweight Champion, then got blown away by Bob Foster.
