I think Pep is one of those forgotten greats that not many people realize just how great he was. I know what you mean about the quality of the division at the time he fought, I too have thought that, but, like many other great champions, he fought what was there. Techincally, the same could be said about Joe Louis and his "bum of the month club". In any case, I think Pep belongs in the discussion.
