Maybe Opetaia is just like Usyk and he just looks better against taller opponents instead of shorter opponents like against that 6'6 guy he knocked out

If he fought Briedis in his prime Opetaia would get flogged.

To be fair to Jai, he was the only one putting in any effort the first 9 rds. All Briedis did for a majority of the fight was stand there with his hands glued to himself. It was a combination of Jai’s massive respect and having nothing to work with. I will say this though, Jai’s jaw does concern me. He looked like he was in a lot of physical pain when Briedis started connecting. I think he was worried about going through the jaw situation all over again. It’s not unlikely that he’ll have some future problems with it.

He is obviously very talented but not in the same tier as the golden age of cruiserweights when Usyk ruled. There were some great fighters in that group and Jais struggles with a past his prime Breidis- who I thought won the first fight- underscore that.

Do you think Opetaia has reached his prime?
