I wouldn’t mind seeing this assuming Lopez looks good in beating Claggett. How do you see this fight play out between Taylor’s conquerors?
As we saw against Jermaine Ortiz and Sandor Martin, Lopez struggles with rangy opponents that don't come to him. Catterall could definitely have some success IMO.
We know Lopez struggles with counter punchers, he's much better when opponents come to him as he's at his best when countering himself. But the same maybe true of Catterall as he's a pure counter puncher who works off his opponents aggression. But Lopez unlike Catterall has shown a tendency to abandon his counter punching style and can be made to lead. So I'd favour Catterall right now to win a decision.
Teo SD. He struggles with southpaw backfoot guys like Martin and Ortiz, but I think after multiple bad performance against those kinds, he'd come better prepared.
This. He could blow out Jack in 5. He could get outboxed. He's so incredibly inconsistent, that you never know.
Knowing Teo, he'd probably underestimate Jack. Teo needs a Tank, Shakur, or Ryan in front of him for him to bring his A-game.
Catterall might not be the best to watch on the eye but he’s a problem for a lot of these top light welters furnto the sheer nature of his awkward style.
Is there still concerns about the overall conditioning and fitness of Jack Catterall? There seems to be a consensus that he gases out, and can't sustain a high tempo for 12 rounds. I suppose, you could ask the question "who looked better against Taylor"?
I thought that going into the Ortiz fight after the Martin and Kambosos Jr fights he'd come in better prepared to deal with that style but again he failed to do so. So I wouldn't be too optimistic about that, it may simply always be a style he struggles with. But maybe you're right and 4th time is the charm, I just wouldn't put money on it.
I think win or lose caterall is one of those Fighters you are going to look bad against either way.. i don't think this would be a good style for lopez
