Hard to say. People get caught. Plus, Pedroza was very green and fighting below his natural weight against a crushing, experienced puncher. It happens.
Is it fair to say it's still a legitimate world class win for Zamora? He was hardly a big bantamweight and he cold cocked a guy who would go on to set records a few weight division up.
Pedroza is the kind of fighter that would give Lopez a similar beating that Sanchez dished out on him. Too crafty, smart, tough, and mean of a fighter for Little Red to handle. The knockout from Zamora came at a time when Pedroza was not as experienced of a fighter and had not settled in at a comfortable weight class. Also didn’t help that Zamora was a monstrous puncher at the weight. If Pedroza were to have fought Zamora a second time at his prime weight class he would surely have beaten Zamora in similar fashion as Jorge Luján did.
