Bob Arum went into a rage after the fight.

But I thought the right man won a fairly close fight, by landing the cleaner punches in most of the rounds.

Who did you score it for?

Taylor edged it for me, the rounds that Catterall won were more conclusive and he did far more damage to taylor in those rounds but that's not how boxing should be scored.

If company man bellew is telling you the fighter not part of the dazn stable can't possibly lose rounds that you are both the agresssor and out landing your opponent. Then you know it.

The second the scorecards were read out we all knew the judges were irrelevant last night.

Anyone who scored it for Taylor has no idea what they're doing. Fights are first and foremost scored on clean, effective punching. Not INEFFECTIVE aggression.

This wasn't a controversial fight, Catterall clearly won.. Taylor was on the front foot for large parts but was getting picked off and countered all night.. caterall landed the more telling blows & was making Taylor dance to his tune .. look at Taylor's face at the end it was a mess and he knew he'd been beaten as well despite his bravado.. Taylor came back into it in some of the middle rounds but overall it looked an 8-4 type of fight to me. It was actually a surprisingly good fight too considering how annoying I find Jacks Style.. Taylor is a very good fighter, he's just come across a style that is difficult for him in caterall.. that and natural decline, he's not ageing well.. some do, some dont... Caterall looked every bit the stronger man in there for me. Taylor was an elite fighter for a few years but I just think his times up now, not everybody is a Usyk or a Pac.. Some can keep performing, others just go to **** like for instance a Kelly Pavlik ...

It was a pretty straightforward fight to score I thought, once you engage your brain and really fixate on the action. Just depends if you want to be kind in favour of Taylor and give him the closer rounds, if you do he still lost the fight by 2 rounds......if not then it'll be 116-113/116-112 which is how a lot of people saw it.

116-112 Catterall, he landed the cleaner punches throughout, that’s what it’s all about.

115-113 possibly 116-112 Catteral win. Catteral dictated the pace and the fight for me,Taylor was busier and Catteral did fade a bit late on but Taylor was getting out boxed and his head jabbed off at times,Taylor’s success at times seemed only to be when Catteral allowed it .

What’s the point of this thread? Does anyone think it’s controversial?

Anyone who scored this fight a win for Taylor must either be a relative or a close friend.

Catteral showed once again that he has Taylors number and if they fight again at this weight he will win again.

I scored it for Taylor but I am Scottish and do understand my scorecard was quite fanciful. I thought a draw would be justifiable. There were a lot of close rounds where Cat failed to stamp his mark and Taylor was the clear aggressor and ring general. Josh backed up Cat throughout and stuck him with the jab or went well to the body. Cat had the cleaner punches but Taylor still landed a lot of good shots on him and they were roughly even in terms of shots thrown and landed on a round by round basis iirc. I value a fighter controlling a round more than flurries. Cat fought in flurries where he'd have a few good counters but would let himself get walked back for the rest of the round. I'll admit my clear bias for my countryman but I think it was a much closer fight than I've seen some make out and different people score to different criteria. Oh, and Cat is a dirty fighter who elbows and headbutts but was allowed to do so by an English ref and had the deck stacked for him in this fight. Both men lose to any other top super lightweight though.
