Interesting! I actually thought he’d pick Tyson over Wladimir to kinda boost his victory over Mike a bit but he was honest! And I have always agreed with that. Lol This content is protected I would’ve liked a few more to be honest. Like Vitali vs Holmes, Wladimir vs Bowe, Tyson vs Foreman, Moorer vs Usyk etc. Would really be interested to hear his answers on those. But fun little interview.
LOL!!! Me either! And they both fought while in their primes too the first time. I’m assuming she meant Fury vs Prime Wladimir also.
Yeah he was taking primes. You could see him run the fights in his head in some cases. Largely agree with his choices except that prime Wlad would have blown Fury out of there I reckon.
I just assumed the chick doesn't know the sport like we all do. Blind Freddy knows Tyson and Bruno went basically best vs best.
Easily. Klitschko excelled at picking off smaller fighters and fighting tall. He excelled at tying fighters up and Tyson historically struggled with clinchers. He should know since Steward moulded them into the same gameplan.
Although of course it is true that Klitschko is better than just about all of Tyson’s early opponents (1985-90), the gulf between guys Klitschko was, “picking off” & prime Tyson is positively galaxial.
Basic physics doesn't change. Klitschko has more length a great jab and better footwork. That's what essentially allows him to defeat any little guy. And of course the DR Octopus routine where he hangs all over smaller guys and ties them up inside. Now, if we had a ref willing to deduct points right off the bat for holding, then we would have a much fairer fight. Tyson would at least be able to try fight Klitschko on the inside and detonate on him when he was still fresh.
Tyson would have KO'ed any version of the best Wlad .. he's crack that chin wide one ... prime for prime, likely Lennox's too ..
This. Wlad’s ATG jab and sledgehammer right would’ve worn Tyson down. Tyson would literally have been up against a the hardest puncher he’s ever faced. Many people don’t realize that or just don’t want to. Plus Lewis heard Emanuel talk about how talented Wlad was and actually was told to his face during a training session that Wladimir was “The biggest threat out there” after he asked Manny who he thought was his toughest matchup. And that was in 2002. Not even Wladimir at his very best.
