I would rather see Parker work on his stamina than add more muscle to gas him out sooner. His winning streak has been his quick feets and hands.
The AJ fight was his lightest weight between 2016 and now. He has been between 240-250 in almost all fights, occasionally over 250. His weight being too low is certainly not an issue unless you also think AJ is too small. Where Parker lacks physically compared to many of the top heavyweights is he’s a few inches shorter (if not exactly short) and that can’t be changed.
He actually just looks leaner if you ask me, If he posed like that previously he would have just been chunkier not smaller. Probably is 240ish
Dominated the shell of Wilder, who wasn't that good to begin with, and got knocked down twice, hurt bad and was one round away from a draw with the ancient and incredibly overweight Chinaman. Curb your enthusiasm.
He might just be leaner so looks bigger. He was definitely in better shape in his last 2 fights coming down from a high of 255 for Joyce and 250 for McKean. He's for a long time looked kind of soft and clearly carrying extra body fat but against Wilder and especially against Zhang he seemed far more solid, looked leaner and maybe even adding muscle. Suffice to say were seeing peak Parker right now, has all that experience, finally developed an effective style and combined that with being in the best physical shape of his life. But he doesn't have a fight lined up and Zhang and Wilder the 2 guys he beat are about to fight. I wonder what his next move will be, he deserves a big fight but Fury and Usyk are tied up for the rest of the year with the rematch in Dec. Joshua is on a mini holiday waiting for the winner of Hrgovic/Dubois for a proposed fight in the autumn. Parker seems to be side lined and on the outside and probably won't get a shot until at least 2025. He needs to remain active a rematch with Whyte would be fine, maybe give Bakole a chance to step up, Kabayel too would be an interesting fight given his recent success.
I agree. Have seen pictures of Parker from a year or two ago where he looks quite similar to how he looks now.
Parker vs Hrgovic is fight I want see. Off course if Filip win. Fight with Joshua again also good but I would prefer Joshua vs Fury now.
Doesn't matter if he looks muscular or not, muscle mass of an athlete should be a functional one. Not bulky type of. And to be fair this looks like a regular gym physique after a Juice cycles. I love Parker, was huge fan back in the day, still cheer for him in a lot of matches, but this bulk over the years lost him most of his speeds, and doesn't give him anything in return. His cardio is worst, his workrate is worst, and his power hasn't changed much if anything at all. Yeah he beat a very limited Wilder, and was lucky that Zhang get cocky after the KD and though this would be a walk in the park, and instead of jumping on Parker, he let him recover. All due respect to Parker, as he is the true definition of a Warrior, he still lost to Joyce not so long ago, with the very same coach he is with currently. Same guy who was cheerleading for Fury, and was shouting that he was winning the fight, when in reality Fury was down big time. He will get his chance very soon against the best of the best and we will see what he is made of.
