Easy money down the drain. How on earth was he the underdog? Bookies make Timmy call the fight off they knew they'd go bankrupt taking Timmy as the Under dog.

There goes my Christmas and New Years trip to the Bahamas too. I'm cut.

Not sure the cut is the sole reason for the withdrawal. The late change of opponent followed by Spence & Crawford being given title shots straight up smells a bit whiffy. King Timmy saved the show twice (by accepting Funky Dora as a late opponent & then fighting on with a bad cut) & gets 'rewarded' for doing so by being dealt out of the Light Middle championship sweepstakes. Beating Ortiz would have guaranteed him nothing. He would have been risking it all for a guarantee of nothing. That's bad business. Also King Timmy isn't an undercard fighter. The true King of the division should get top billing. King Timmy should fight the IBF champ in Australia. They need to create a situation where the division can't be unified without the other 'champs' going through him. History tells us that if the Big Doodles don't have to fight a Tszyu, they won't. The way the Doodles were maneuvering the chess pieces, King Timmy faced the prospect of being frozen out.

Doctor rules him out to fight Vergil Ortiz Jr more than 4 months after suffering the cut in the Fundora fight, yet doctor in the ring during the Fundora fight was ok to let it continue despite the cut.

I reckon I've seen 20-plus articles by American journos blaming Tszyu's corner for not stopping the fight. I'm yet to read one that attributes any blame to the American ringside physician. Since when do corners overrule ringside physicians when it comes to fighter health & safety?

The doctor in the ring was an inept, bumbling moron.

I wonder where to now for Tszyu. He's the best guy at 154 but it looks like he has work to do to get back there.

That a wound like that hasn't healed sufficiently can hardly come as a surprise to anyone.

Ridiculous on so many levels that that bout was allowed to continue.

Ortiz is the one showing more balls here. He's had two fights at 154 after a serious health scare.

Either way it is poor career management from both fighters. I never thought I'd be saying fighters need to be a little more conservative but credit to both for being keen.
