This content is protected Hes been training at the Robert Garcia Gym sparring with his friend Bam Rodriguez. Hes preparing for his comeback fight and hopes to win a belt at 118. War Choco.
I remember when this boxer was on the high of his career. He was said to be one of the best. I haven’t seen him box in years
Great interview. Choco is such a humble man and I can see him capturing another title before he retires. According to Vergil Ortiz Jr: This content is protected Would love to see footage of Choco and Bam sparring.
I never saw why he was so praised the way he was... until he fought an almost flawless fight against JC Martinez, and I noticed everything he does good in the ring.
I can't imagine he will bag a belt at 118. I just think he's too small. He was too small for 115. Thanks for sharing the video @Young Terror I will check this out in a bit.
A true ATG talent but he is so small and gives up so much size. No matter what, if he’s fighting I’m watching and rooting for him. True champion.
Inoue and Takei are there for the taking. Nishida is pretty green and he doesn´t use physicality to win fights. But he hits way harder than his record suggest, that is something many overlooked going into the Rodriguez fight. Best part is that all of the champions at 118 are Japanese, so it will be easy to make a fight with Gonzales. I bet every one of them would love the opportunity.
Takei Is very average if Choco has anything left I think he can beat him. The others might be too much for him at this point of his career and on a weight class that he really doesn't belong at. Go for Takei get that belt and retire. His rightfull place amongst his fellow legends in the HOF is secure and his legacy as one of the best little fighters ever is cemented. I'll miss him when he's gone, a joy to watch and a class act. Hope he gets to go out on top.
Completely agree with this the man gave everything he had every time he was in the ring, he shone a light on the lower weight classes and at one point was close to the pound for pound, but when his trainer died he wasn’t the same, but being the guy he is he kept going, I personally only want to see him come back and win, he has taken some heavy shots in his career, I just don’t want to see him take one to many. If it was my call I would say no, he has nothing to prove and everything to lose, he was massively underpaid in his purses as I remember, I vaguely remember being shocked at how little he was paid for title fights, I might be wrong it’s been awhile since I even thought about chocolito but I will definitely watch that interview later, thanks for reminding me about the guy.
