I'm just glad Fury won't be showing his fat ugly mug tomorrow night. Every time there's a big heavyweight fight he usually shows his face or does some slagging off in the build up. He hates being out of the spotlight. But after his beating the Fury camp have all gone into hiding. Fury has done a few social media videos trying to save face but he won't want to be anywhere near an event where pundits ect will ask him about his loss. As for his fat bully dad and the rest of the freeloaders - they seem to have disappeared
The posts from fighters being asked to pay their support to one of the two promoters is cringe AF. Even Canelo and McGregor did one for Hearn and Matchroom. More interestingly the UK could have 2 more world champions tomorrow night. I’m confident Ball gets the job done as Ford is done at the weight but I don’t have much hope for Dubois. Why haven’t the PPV figures been released for any of these Riyadh Season cards? They are on multiple platforms in the UK (and US normally apart from this one) but we never hear anything. That Riyadh Season card in the US in August does look really good too even with Ortiz Jr vs Tszyu getting cancelled. Seems like Queensberry do the paperwork and organising for the Saudi cards and Matchroom for the US ones. Turki basically the ultimate promoter and calling all the shots. Pretty incredible. Once Fury and Joshua fight I reckon he loses interest and we go back to reality.
I love my boxing and pay for Sky, BT, DAZN and most box offices but I'm opting out of this one. Feels greedy a week after the Fury super fight and same night as champs league footy.
A disgrace clashing with Spanish Champions v Germany runners up in so called Champions League where only 50% of participants are champions. Great card but the potential eyes watching will be seriously reduced. Stuff Turkey and time to get these big events back in the UK.
For the previous card, I overhead a couple of John Fury's mates talking from the other side of the wall at a traveller's site. They stated that the previous Riyadh Card had the following: 1. Sky Sports Box Office £1.2m 2. TNT Sports Box Office £1.2m 3. DAZN UK Box Office 27 people and 2 cats
Already been mentioned but a real shame it’s clashing with the football. I guess Real Madrid have the ability to go at least two goals up at HT so you can maybe then focus on the boxing more. But I’ll personally be watching the football on my TV and glancing through the boxing on my phone.
While I'm looking forward to tonight's card I still can't help but feel utterly devastated that we're not seeing Beterbiev against Bivol.
I'm looking forward to this. Wouldn't usually miss the European Cup final for anything, but at best it's second screen tonight. It also helps my conflict at wanting Jude Bellingham to win the European Cup, despite my general revulsion for Real Madrid. Ironically I'm quite cold about the 'main' event at the moment. Very concerned by Wilder, he was listless at that weight vs Parker and I fear tonight could be ugly for him. (Knowing my record, cue Wilder KO1). Otherwise, there's some absolute crackers on the card. Think most of us are up for Ball vs Ford, I'm also intrigued by Hrgovic vs Dubois, and the other two should be good, equally matched bouts. Hope tonight is a success and we see a similar, predominantly British card at Wembley along the same lines in September - whether inter-promotional or a Ryder Cup style Europe vs USA. I agree with Simon Jordan's take that some of these new concepts are ingenious. The sport needs something that rewards promoters for putting on deep undercards - something that gets the casuals to their seats once the doors open, not a few minutes before the main event. Good luck to them. See you all on the RBR.
Wilders energy is just nowhere near what it was in a fight build up. The dog has gone from him when that happens and youre facing a big puncher it's game over.
Does anyone have any interest in the Dortmund-Madrid final? The 5v5 card is lucky that we have such a boring final.
This is the best card I can remember in my lifetime, all 5 points are 50-50s or 60-40s. If Beterbiev vs Bivol headlined it would have been even better. It's more convenient to buy on SKY or TNT and they also aren't lagging behind by 1 minute. But if you do buy on DAZN I think you get to watch Matias vs Paro, Cash vs Denny + Crocker vs Walker, Estrada vs Rodriguez + Edwards vs Curiel all in the same month, so may be worth buying on DAZN if you're interested in that? I guess you could make the same argument for Fury vs Usyk if you wanted to watch Catterall vs Taylor II the week afterwards. I doubt any pubs will be showing this because of the Champions League final.
Prime Video are showing this card. I bought the Fury-Usyk PPV through Amazon and the picture quality was brilliant.
