Did Malik Scott ruin and deteriorate Wilder further?

He’s washed. Go back and watch his first fight with Fury and his last few fights and you see the difference. His legs are completely gone and he can’t pull the trigger anymore. The hallmarks of a shot fighter.

Well managed as in 'well protected', sure. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't think once you're champ, you should have 7 defences before 'stepping up'. You've got a claim to being the best, so fight the best. AJ, Whyte, Parker, Povetkin (not his fault it didn't happen, granted), Ruiz, even an old Wlad were around during his reign, yet he fought none in his prime, leaving his only notable wins as Ortiz and the pretty mediocre Stiverne.

What does a trainer get? 10%?
To train somebody for a few years and not improve them whatsoever and still walk away with some Saudi loot is genius by Scott.

Is your view based on being a fan who has never made a dollar in boxing or is it based on being a former champion who maxed out earnings and also fought who the WBC required in order to keep the belt?

Uhhh, the former, obviously (though I did make £50 off Wilder getting knocked out yesterday, so boxing has been good to me lately). That's what most people on these forums are, fans. How about you, are you a former world champion? Why so tetchy?

If you don't like who he was fighting, you should look to the WBC to rank people differently. Povetkin basically held up part of his reign with his own bs and denied Wilder a potentially significant win. Most of the rest of the guys Wilder fought were either mandated or ranked by the WBC.

    Breland after Wilder fired him...

"He used the jab one time in that fight with Bermane Stiverne," Breland added. "That was it. He never hit the bag. He don't hit the speed bag. He don't jump rope, he don't hit the speed bag, and he don't hit the heavy bag.

"One thing you all like to say is that, 'He's got a lot of power, and that's all.' I wish him well, and that's it. Only got his power, and we'll see how far that takes him, that's all I'm gonna say."

Breland was with Wilder until his first loss. Wilder went 42-1-1
Scott was with Wilder through last night. Wilder has gone 1-3-0

Malik scott is horrendous. One of them guys that has all the knowledge but no real idea of getting that knowledge working.

Breland was doing a good job with wilder. Knew his limitations and worked within the constraints of them limitations to get the best out of wilder.

Scotts knowledge is hopeless if you cant do that part.

Wilder was too thin last night for a start. Hes near 40 years old fighting 15 pounds lighter than he did 10 years ago against a guy that outweighed him by 40 pounds or whatever

You can't train someone who doesn't want to be trained. Wilder has said it many times. He just wants someone to run his camp, not train him. He knows it all already.

No. Wilder was a no skill fraud before Scott, he fought terrible opposition for a reason.

I don't think it made a big difference. I think Wilder was on the way down after the 2nd Fury fight

Ditching Mark Breland was the worst decision for Wilder. I can’t for the life of me understand why Wilder would hire someone who took a dive against him.
