Insinuated by Badou that he will fight Opetaia next. What are your thoughts on this potential fight, people? Jack hasn't fought since February of last year and will be 41 years old when he goes on to face Opetaia. He looks pretty big in the pic with Jai and he has the skills to give Jai some problems, but than again Opetaia isn't a shot Makabu.

Meh. If Opetaia is staying active that's good I guess.

What does Jack bring to the table of interest to Opetaia? He did hold the WBC belt but he vacated it.

Last I knew the was the WBC cruiserweight champion so it would be a unification fight, That being said, he has been inactive for 16 months so he may have been stripped of the title.

As per the post you quoted, Jack vacated the WBC title.

Jack vacated the title in September, just months after winning it. His reasoning at the time was he wanted to contest the bridgerweight title but Jack hasn't fought since vacating the cruiserweight title.

Jai Opetaia can be the next Usyk lite.

Get Undisputed at 200 lbs, fight Beterbiev too.

Opetaia is only 28. There is no glass ceiling for this guy.

Not particularly interested, would much rather Zurdo which is doable for the Saudis I’m sure, but as a keep-busy fourth down the card I can’t complain.

One of Opetaia's team members ruled this out last week on The Stifler's Mum thread. Looking at the WBC website, they list Badou Jack as "Champion in Recess". That's what they do when they want to move the champ aside in order to facilitate more lucrative fights. Maybe Turki can work some Arabian magic & get Jai an opportunity to fight for a WBC belt even if it's not the WBC belt (if that makes sense)?

The WBC seem to be pulling all sorts of maneuvers lately to make fights happen so we'll see.

That Arabian magic, measured in cubic dollars, seem to be able to make all sorts of things possible. Opetaia-Zorro being a good example. Absolutely money for jam for Opetaia and plenty of it.
