True, his resume doesn't look that good. Reminds me a bit of Tony Thompson. Wins over some names, but not THE names. He should just continue to box, make some money as long as he can and who knows, maybe he changes trainers and comes back as Wilder 2.0.

I think it would have done Wilder good if he stayed active around Fury and after beating up on some tin cans, I think they thought Parker would be a easy win as Parker’s pillow fisted but yea I don’t think he was managed well and his trainer is legit ******ed.

    Exactly!

And if one is a fan of Wilder in particular, I would think they’d want him to retire even more than any arms length observers.

Imo, he needs to get out now - and as Hearn alluded to - it appears that his heart is no longer fully in it anymore. I’m not a fan of Deontay in particular but I certainly wish him the best for his health and future otherwise.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of Wilder. In his heyday he was pretty unlikeable.

Still, he brought some excitement and attention to the HW division in the US when it was badly needed.

He's a human being though and I'd hate to see the guy end up like Toney, Roy Jones, Quarry, Ali and so many others.

No need for that. He's had a decent career.

    He should retire.

Otherwise, if he wants to continue at Heavyweight then he needs a win against someone like Chisora, Joyce, Sanchez, Makhmudov, that sort of level to get him back on the edges of the top tier.

Alternatively he could try win a belt at Bridgerweight.

I actually think Chisora would beat him now, most likely on points.

He should finally come to terms with what he true level is, avoid fighting most of the Top 10 ranked guys, and then go on a 3 or 4 year money making retirement tour battering the lower ranked guys senseless, rack up several wins and end on a high note. Because the reality is, matches against Whyte, Ajagba, Chisora, Ngannou, Wallin, Makhmudov, Pulev, Anderson, Chaney, Wardley, Adeleye, Huni, Miller, Clarke, Sirenko, and yes, if his confidence grows, even Dubois, Ruiz, Bakole, and Joyce are winnable fights for him. Keep things in perspective, he lost to Fury... most do, Zhang hits like a ****ing grizzly bear with mallets tied to his hands and Parker arguably outboxed a prime Anthony Joshua. No big deal. Although he should avoid Usyk, AJ, Kabayel and rematches against Zhang, Fury and Parker like the ****ing plague.

Or just retire. Because Wilder is a mental midget with pisspoor ring IQ, there's a distinct possibility that his confidence so far gone, it may never come back. Which leaves his cracked chin, which was never all that exceptional to start with, a far more open target.

Beat those guys to get back to top tier? Dude, those guys are better than the tier he defended against when he was "champion." How can he get "back" to a tier he was never at in the first place?

This is the essential problem of Wilder carrying on. He would have to get a lot better than he ever was.

    He's finished.

Time to take his bows and exit stage left.

He may need to rematch Dustin the Worm Nichols at this point.

His best win would have to be Ortiz right? But who is Ortiz’s best win?
