Heavyweight doesn't have much depth rn. Wilder is gone from everyone's top ten as is inactive Andy Ruiz.
1) Usyk - wins over Fury and Joshua. Undefeated. 2) Fury - lost a close decision to Usyk, recent champion, wins over highly rated Whyte & Wilder in last 3 years. 3) Joshua - lost a close decision to Usyk, recent champion, good resume but only recent rated win is Wallin, not as good as Fury’s wins. 4) Parker - beat Zhang and Wilder. Loss to Joyce still recent enough to be relevant, and lost to Joshua and Whyte without avenging. 5) Kabayel - beat Makhmudov and Sanchez. Undefeated. 6) Dubois - beat Hrgovic in his only rated win. Loss to Joyce enough to keep him below undefeated Kabayel. Also lost against Usyk. 7) Zhang - beat Wilder and Joyce. Close loss to Hrgovic and loss to Parker enough to keep him below Dubois. 8) Hrgovic - beat Zhang, lost to Dubois. Below Zhang due to close nature of their fight and recent form favouring Zhang. 9) Joyce - Win over Parker less than 2 years ago enough to remain relevant, but clearly below Zhang given 2 losses. 10) Anderson - Unbeaten but unproven Could argue Whyte for #10, but drug tests enough to devalue his rating. Could also argue Bakole, but needs to prove himself and the loss to Hunter still hurts.
My new rankings after this weekend 1. Usyk (the elite of the elite, the actual undisputed champion) 2. Joshua (IMO still top 2-3, no reason to say he isn't) 3. Fury (might be finished at the top but he probably beats the majority of the top 10, best "recent" win don't shine as bright anymore) 4. Parker (The Cinderella Man, but for how long) 5. Zhang (his level is established top 10/barely top 5) 6. Joyce (slipped and fell off a cliff but his losses were to a semi elite) 7. Daniel Dubois (I guess because why not........) 8. Hrgovic (precarious) 9. Kabayel (I guess) 10. Bakole (I also guess) Wilder is officially gone (long time coming TBH) The fluctuation of my list has been crazy
1. Usyk 2. Fury 3. Joshua 4. Parker 5. Dubois 6. Hrgovic 7. Zhang 8. Kabayel 9. Joyce 10. Bakole Feels wrong having Dubois + Hrgovic above Zhang but I did have Hrgovic beating Zhang upon rewatch so have to go on merit - obviously Dubois above Joyce contradicts this but Hrgovic vs Zhang was somewhat more recent. The 10th spot could easily be hoovered up by a multitude of inactive heavies if they come back and have a decent win. Ruiz if he beats Miller, Hunter if he beats Chaney, Dillian if he could beat someone of note etc.
What exactly has Kabayel achieved or shown for him to be ranked above Fury, Joshua and Zhang? And I'm saying that as someone who has always rated Kabayel more than most and don't think he would be a pushover for anyone. But over Fury/Joshua/Zhang?
1 Oleksander Usyk 2 Anthony Joshua 3 Joseph Parker 4 Tyson Fury 5 Daneil Dubois 6 Zhang 7 Agit Kabayel 8 Martin Bakole 9 Joe Joyce 10 Filip Hrgovic
1 - Usyk 2 - Joshua 3 - Fury 4 - Parker 5 - Zhang 6 - Kabayel 7 - Dubois 8- Bakole 9 - Anderson 10 - Sanchez Ruiz would be top 10 if active. I would have Zhang higher but Parker beat him head to head. I hated to rate Kabayel so low. I think he's knocking on the door of the top 3 or 4.
That fight was in the stone age. SO MUCH has happened since and you're just gonna ignore everything...
No Doodles in my top 10 H/W rankings for the first time ever. Jared Anderson hasn't done enough to be there & won't be appearing in Saudi any time soon. I don't think he can win fights against live opposition without the protection of US State Athletic Commissions. Kabayel too high on most people's rankings. He's not a top 5 guy. C - Oleksandr Usyk 1 - Tyson Fury 2 - Anthony Joshua 3 - Joseph Parker 4 - Daniel Dubois 5 - Big Bang Zhang 6 - Agit Kabayel 7 - Filip Hrgovic 8 - Joe Joyce 9 - Martin Bakole 10 - Efe Ajagba
Yeah it was a while ago but lets not pretend it didn't happen and lets not pretend later on Joyce beat Parker who is in most people top 4 now which is a better win than anything on Dubois record. Dubois needs to do more than he has so far to rank above someone that beat him and has a better win than him.
