That's the biggest problem he has to get a revenge win against Dubois, though.

The longer he leaves it, the worse his chances get - Dubois is only just coming into his prime, he's 26 right now... Hrgovic is 32.

Give it more than a couple of years and Dubois will be bang in the middle of his prime whilst Hrgovic will be past his best - and short of some serious work on his gas tank, that's likely to be a problem.

Hrgovic can't afford to wait too long, but he also needs a bunch of fights and a lot of training to be confident of doing better.

I think it's probably one of those that he realistically just won't win.

I think the criticisms leveled against Hrgovic are overblown. He was winning handily for much of the fight and I don't see any reason why he can't pace himself better and beat Dubois. Add in a little punch diversity and he's good.

I don't see a rematch happening but I think Hrgovic outboxes Dubious easily

Agree, especially about the part about waiting.

    Lets lay it here:
    • Hrgovic must recover from cuts, he must come back for December fight that Turki offered him (I guess it is December)
    • So December fight lets say it is a win
    • How much can he fight per year? I dont think 1 fight per year is something he can do anymore.
    He should fight

    december 24 - Zhang rematch
    march 25 - Sanchez
    june 25 - Makmudov
    september 25 - Kabayel
    december 25 - Dubois

Zhang will coldly knock Hrgovic out if there is a rematch, which I hope will not happen for Hrgovic's sake...

If the Hrgovic illness story is true then he ought to clean Dubois up in a rematch.

He has to provehimself that he is a top contender, right now everyone has written him off. He is done othervise. Zhang is the biggest risk fight he can take.

But also it could be a smart move - Zhang is 41 dont we forget.

To be honest if Hrgovic gets his act together and fights at even 60% of his potential he can beat all of those, but it would be smarter to fight Makhmudov first and Zhang later if he has the choice. Zhang is only getting older and is too much of a risk for December. If Hrgovic can, he needs to make improvements fighting decent but not top 5 opponents.

I think if he can string together 3-4 decent wins or so, he'll be back in the frame for a title shot, perhaps vs AJ (I expect AJ to beat Dubois before any rematch can happen).

The main reason people are writing off Hrgovic is that his lacklustre, disinterested attitude in the ring coupled with an obvious lack of preparedness (maybe not his fault but still, impressions matter) does not inspire confidence - to get to the top one has to be motivated.

Parker went through a similar period after a similarly demotivating loss to Whyte (who IMHO will end up being seen as an inferior fighter to Dubois), he seemed disinterested and laborious in the ring, and even a bit out of shape.

That all changed when he linked up with Andy Lee, he still lost to Joyce after that but obviously gave it his best which curiously heralded a better future.

I agree he could come back, it’s gonna take some hard work and heart to do it.

Hrgovic is a better boxer than Dubois and can definitely win a rematch but he seems to go missing in fights when he gets resistance from his opponents. He doesn't have much fight in him.

Hrgovic has been well and truly exposed.

He had a better time against Zhang because Zhang threw less punches and is almost non-existent after 6 rounds.

Zhang is a static target and Hrgovic found it easy to land.

Hrgovic is one dimensional. Has a half decent jab and a good straight right but that's it really. His punches are almost as telegraphed as Wilders.

If Hrgovic can't line up that straight right he has nothing else.

Dubois took his best shots and he wasn't badly hurt.

Hrgovic also has a **** attitude. He may deserve another chance, but one more big loss and that's it.

I am wondering if he hits harder than AJ

Hrgovic looked good in the first two rounds, after which you could see that Hrgovic is physically inferior to Dubois, against whom he had no chance to fight, this is Hrgovic's maximum and he can't do better than this...

He needs to make huge improvements. Get rid of Ronnie Shields and that other clown assistant trainer he's been working with both of whom are useless, hook up with a good coach who is actually interested in helping him do that, go on a proper S&C program and build some muscle to improve his power (and whilst he can improve his power let's not act like he's some kind of featherfist because people who've actually shared a ring with him say he hits hard) and train for a 12 round fight like you're supposed to.

People also conveniently forgetting that he did beat a better version of the current #4 HW Big Bang albeit controversially than the version who just iced The Dosser and who surely would've KO'd the current #3 HW J-Park had he actually let his hands go.

And even if you had Big Bang winning that fight as many did it was still a razor-close affair which can only reflect very badly on Big Bang now what with him having gone life and death against a bum like Hrgovic, right?

Do I need to remind everyone again about the losses, the multiple losses, the stoppage losses, embarrassing losses, the robbery wins, and razor-close wins of many of the current top 10 guys, top 5 even, including Dubois, AJ, and J-Park all of whom are ranked in the top 6 by The Ring?

There is no more progress for Hrgovic and that was seen in his last three fights, he has nothing left but to fight for money and we can expect some more defeats from him...
