This was as much of a draw as I've ever seen in boxing. Ball controlled the first half and Ford controlled the 2nd There were a lot of close rounds Great fight
I scored it for Ball. He clearly won, despite being the much smaller man. I scored it 115-113, while giving the closest round to Ford. If I had given it to Ball I would have had it 116-112. Ball is exciting to watch. I'm eagerly anticipating his next fight.
Unpopular opinion but I had Ford winning although I'd have to watch it again as I wasn't paying the closest attention because I was watching the boxing with friends and family.
I had it 116-112 for Ball. I only gave Ford rounds 2,3,10 and 12. Rounds 7 and 8 were close and if you give those rounds to Ford then yes it's a draw, so I don't think a draw is an outrageous scorecard. But for me Ford's lull in the middle rounds where he simply seemed to switch off or even accept defeat and go into survival mode as he stopped attacking and going for Ball's vulnerable body, cost him the fight.
I scored it for Ball 115-113, Ford had a couple of rounds where his body language was bad an seemed like he had accepted a loss, but then came on strong after busting Ball's nose. There were many close rounds in the latter half of the fight, but I think Ball had the more dominant rounds. Round 12 though I think both guys deserved huge praise, a great round with both guys giving 150% and putting it on the line, a real round of the year type contender that.
You can't let a guy pound on you for round after round and outland you and back you up in pretty much every single round and then claim it was a robbery. That's just not how boxing is scored. Ball won this fight clearly.
