Who thinks Ruiz will have a late career surge?

Not sure how motivated he really is. Miller will have been his 3rd fight in 5 years. 2 of those guys 40+ years of age and the other who's about 800lbs.....it doesn't really take him anywhere. He's 34 now with a lot of mileage on that clock.

The guys had a good career including pulling off one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history.

Without watching the video, I don't really think so.

He's talented, and grasped the opportunity at the right time with Joshua, but he lacks consistency and can't just fight fat like that in a sustainable manner.

His talent has always been obvious, but so has his complete lack of self discipline and commitment to the sport. At the top level you simply can't half arse it or you'll get found out and since making millions against Joshua what little commitment and desire he had has disappeared.

But maybe the imminent likelihood of being taken to the cleaners by his soon to be ex-wife who it seems he physically and sexually abused based on the permanent restraining order she has in place and a new kid on the way with his new girlfriend, he might finally again have the motivation to take his career at least semi-seriously again.

I guess the Miller fight will tell us a lot. As poor as Miller is, I am expecting it to be competitive up until the point one of them gasses out, likely Miller because if there's anyone in worse shape than Ruiz Jr, it's Miller which is why he was likely picked as a comeback opponent.

Another man ruined because of lack of discipline. But you never know what's going on in his head.

The AJ win was probably the worst thing for him.

Difficult to know where is at. Pretty decent win vs Ortiz but if Ortiz wasn't shot to bits Ruiz would have lost on the cards.

Ruiz TKO's Jarrell miller for me.

I don't rate Miller that high; but you do need to be in a good shape to deal with his pressure and size. And Andy Ruiz doesn't strike me as guy who would look good after 2 years of inactivity.

I don't think inactivity in regards to his fitness makes a difference in regards to Ruiz. The fittest or at least slimmest I have ever seen him was after the Parker loss. He whipped himself into good shape for him, I was kind of surprised, so the loss seemed to motivate him during that 15 month gaps from that loss to his comeback. Then he arranged a comeback fight and some how gained weight during the training camp and came in at his heaviest weight in 2 years lol. Only fighter who goes into a boxing training camp and somehow gains 20lbs or more. Maybe that's why he came in so heavy for the Joshua rematch, too long a training camp for it. Instead of 10 weeks of shovelling Snickers into his mouth he did 12 weeks of shovelling Snickers into his mouth, lol.
