It sounds crazy to call Gvozdyk a cherrypick but he retired for a while and is now on the wrong side of 30. The team probably thought it would be a high risk but high reward fight because Gvozdyk was the closest to beating Beterbiev and is now past it but still a name.

Benavidez is young and hungry but I think it goes wrong, he gets dropped imo. I will be impressed if he pulls it off despite the circumstances and give him his credit because i still think Gvozdyk is top 10

Well Benavidez is kind of a discount Beterbiev, but Gvozdyk isn’t the same fighter anymore. Most of the guy’s athleticism is gone and he seems to rely on fundamentals and power. I’d have to go with Benavidez here based on youth.

Might very well be the case, even if Gvozdyk is past his best, he still probably has more ability left than anyone Benavidez has fought to date.

If Benavidez wins without controversy, I'll give him credit, I'm not sold on him but if he can beat this version of Gvozdyk, he's clearly better than I initially thought.

I think Gvozdyk can see that smashing a big name like Benavidez is his ticket back to the limelight, and that people are gonna be shocked at what Gvozdyk does to him.

Gvozdyk is faded, he's not as good as he was when he beat Adonis Stevenson. The long period of inactivity hasn't helped. He's just another boxer who's career was ruined by the mentally ill trainer Teddy Atlas.

I'd enjoy seeing Gvozdyk beat the weight bully Benavidez, but it's not going to happen.

I know what you’re saying. He leads with his face, betting that his face can take more than your face can. Sooner or later he will come up against a dude with harder face. I still think his fights are great to watch.

    I already bet on Gvodzyk.

I hope he will show his skills and power fully. It;s his last chance to return to the top.

Funny thing I noticed is Gvozdyk looked an inch taller even though they're both listed at the same height

I think Gvozdyk will take a dive.

Benavidez team carefully selected a well known veteran from light heavyweight who came back from a long break and has no ambition of becoming a champion again.

They agreed with him to take a dive, so that they will make Benavidez a bigger name in boxing.

Gvozdyk will take a dive and get knocked out by Benavidez. It will force Canelo to fight him. This is professional boxing, this is business.

I like Gvosdyk. He beat the crap out of Stevenson, right? I don't think this is any kind of "cherry pick". I think that label diminishes both guys. Why would you want to do that ?I think that they are both pretty serious about this fight. Are you hoping to use the word "expose" the day after? For "clout"? Hyperconnectivity was a mistake.

No because I'm expecting Gvozdyk to win. Benavidez wouldn't be exposed
