He obviously isn't retiring but thinks he is entitled to bigger money no matter whom he fights. And of course it doesn't work that way.

He also isn't a Matchroom fighter so not sure why he would expect them to bid. No problem with him taking a little time to enjoy his accomplishments so far -- he has fought a hellacious set of opponents the past couple years -- but he needs to reset his financial expectations.

The Garcia fight blew Haney's world apart. All the Sh!t the Haney's said before the fight.
I think Dollar Bill did almost as much damage to his son as Ryan did. All that extra pressure Bill saying Dev is going to literally kill Ryan etc. When did Dev ever fight someone his size, let alone knock them out?

I think Bill has held back his son's development as a human being in a similar way that Joe Jackson did with Michael. Nothing is natural with him. his interviews are horrible. Every time he thought he'd alpha-ed Ryan in the lead up to the fight, Garcia clowned him.
To be humbled in the way he was may have left Devin with no identity as I believe he has no identity outside of boxing.
All this after a 'win' Lomachenko, Dev's career best performance

His boring as hell ass earned the same amount ($3M) for facing a completely washed inactive much smaller Linares who hadn't fought in 15 months as exciting KO artists Beterbiev and Gvozdyk did combined for facing prime versions of each other in a unification match up and his only other fight against a name opponent prior to that was vs a shot to hell 39 y/o way smaller Gamboa who he earned $2M for facing

Loma earned $1.5M for facing a prime much bigger active Linares who was ranked #1 at 135, #11 P4P, and who hadn't lost in six years

Loma had more fans in attendance in Haney's hometown than Haney did

    He's always been hideously overpaid

He literally said he's retiring for at least 2 years...................and refused to fight again until Ryan's suspension is over. So temporarily at least.

This is probably the most affected I've seen a young boxer take a loss in recent memory. He put way too much emphasis on his "0". This will dog him the rest of his career.

His daddy wants his loss to Ryan erased and claims that loss is the reason for a pitiful purse bid.

No, Bill, that's not the reason. Reasons include 1) your big mouth, Bill. 2) your son's boring ass style.
    3) a lesser (although very good) slappy style opponent.

Devon made good money only when fighting name opponents. Maybe Allah isn't so akhbar for you now, Bill.

Teo claimed to retire early and is about to fight this weekend. Shakur did the same thing where he was venting and said he was gonna leave the sport for good and came right back. This isn't anything new. Haney will be back in the ring this year, I guarantee it.

He would probably be completely broke if he went 2 years without fighting and just lived it up. No way that happens.
