All he had to do was make the weight and we wouldn't have to speculate. Ryan didn't want to pay the price, he wanted every advantage possible. He got his win, but it is massively tainted. He would rather win with tainted results than to take a chance on losing fairly. He can't have the best of both worlds, they should turn the fight into a no contest, or Ryan should lose by DQ. I'm not even a Haney fan, i actually like Ryan as a fighter much more. They shouldn't reward bad behavior and rule breakers.

In fairness, they also build the best teams around a couple of guys. The domestiques do most of the donkey work so it helps enormously if you have the best guys around you.

ryan was fighting the judges, the ref, and a guy that comes in at like 185 pounds on fight night. If you think having 1 billionth of a gram of some irrelevant substance in your system made him destroy haney that night, I have a bridge to sell you.

Ryan was doing everything possible to make sure he lost. He tried to get away with a heist and the investigaters caught up with him.

and is hated by everybody and their moms..... I'm starting to like that nut job. Even if the only reason is that nobody likes him. Haney's face in this interview after Ryan ends singing is priceless :risas3:, as funny as it can be.

There is no rule for how much you weigh the next day, thats why they call it the weighins not the weigh outs.

Yeah obviously, but that's not cheating now is it? Although, the way this pussified snowflake culture is going, it wouldn't shock me in the least to see Visma or Team UAE be banned for being too good in the future.

No, it’s not cheating but let’s not pretend like Lance Armstrong didn’t have every possible advantage. Yes, he’s a fabulous natural athlete but he also had the best team and the best drug regime as well as a world class group of patsies and yes men who covered up his litany of indiscretions.

Hopefully his suspension will only count when he announces his comeback, retired fighters can't serve their suspension while being retired can they?

Yeah, he had a damned solid team around him, but with beasts like Kloden, Vinokourov, Botero, Sevilla, Kessler, Zabel, Guerini, Ivanov, Nardello, Aldag, Steinhauser and Livingston surrounding him throughout the years, it's not like Jan Ullrich was suffering from a dearth of top notch dopers to rely on either. And as I said earlier, the only guy with a realistic chance at beating Lance through his years of dominance, was Jan Ullrich. Sure, you could throw out Basso and Beloki as well. But Ivan had guys like Sastre, Voigt, Julich, Schleck, Lombardi, Bartoli and Breschel who are anything but scrubs, while Beloki had guys like Gonzalez, Sastre, Moreau, Azevedo, Jaksche, Nozal and Maduous around him. And let's be honest, their drug programs were quality as well. So still.... pretty even playing field between the guys who could win it.

    Fair enough.

Still I am not sure you can conflate cycling with boxing. I can accept that most top level cyclists are on rather well crafted doping regimes. I don’t accept that most boxers are. Garcia has been caught, Haney (whom I cannot stand) has not. Therefore as it stands right now Garcia is a cheat, Haney is not.

The argument that “they all do it” doesn’t hold up at this stage.
