Why Fury won't take the rematch

If Fury doesn't take the rematch his entire legacy and reputation is in pieces

At least Joshua stepped up for the Usyk rematch immediately and his mental implosion came post fight.....

Why would Fury pass on the possibility of getting revenge ? Usyk didn't dominate him. The fight was dead even until Usyk rocked him badly and took the lead for the rest of the fight. A reason for that was Usyk's superior conditioning and stamina. Who's to say Usyk doesn't age overnight and loses that advantage ? Especially with his cardio reliant style. Who's to say Fury can't fight a better fight and keep the fight close until the end to possibly nick out a win ? An Usyk win is far from a predetermined conclusion, despite it still being the more likely scenario.

Fury doesn't strike me as a man who would rather milk his robbery excuse than actually avenge his only loss. Joshua is still an important fight money wise, but let's not pretend that Fury doesn't care about his legacy at all.

 

I am 50-50 on whether Fury will take this or not.

Fact is he tried to age out Usyk. This fight could have been made in 2022. Joshua was willing to take step aside money. Hell, this fight could have even been made as early as March 2023.

He is on video saying he wouldn't fight Usyk even if Usyk beat Joshua (before Usyk - Joshua 1) because Usyk is a foreigner who doesn't speak good English.

Turki probably has an iron clad contract so he may force Tyson to fight Usyk again. This is why i am 50-50 on this.

 

People also said Fury cut his own face with a razor because he would never fight Uysk the first time.

Fury did well the first fight and even despite the scorecard you've got to like your chances in the second fight if you are in the Fury camp.

And if nothing else $$$ for a fight with less pressure

 

In January it'll be "he won't take the third fight!"

 

I don't think he is going to make it. I respect those who say that he will, but I think we are going to see another post-Klitschko meltdown. He can't take stress at all, which is why he was good for a post-Wilder rematch....he could conceivably say he really won the first, but not a post-Klitschko rematch...he had the stress of the VADA situation.

 

Well, some had their doubts and those doubts weren’t without justification.

Bottom line, if the fight had come off in Feb24, Fury wasn’t anywhere near in the condition he got himself into by May.

I think Usyk fans were clever enough to predict Olek as the winner and also foretell that Fury wouldn’t suddenly morph into the MAN (that he’s never been) after the fact of his defeat.

I think Usyk fans can live with the fact (actually celebrate it) that Fury, after multiple side steps, undue delays for which ONLY Fury was to blame, did finally drag himself into the ring to get his ass kicked by Olek.

 

Does anyone even have a legitimate source for the purses? I can´t find one, besides that clickbait site that clearly comes up with BS numbers. Seems like everyone is running with what they put out.

 

In fairness, Fury - generally (but not exclusively) - goes through with fights once signed.
But I don't at all blame those who think he will pull out. The Klitschko rematch never happened. He did then drop out of boxing all together. The first Usyk fight was delayed. And he has a long history of messing other fighters around and being economical with the truth - this is entirely self inflicted. So I think either position is perfectly reasonable to take.

Fury is flawed and boxers are starting to see these flaws. No shame, we are all human and flawed.
