After Fury's latest interview, his first since the loss last month, he claimed he firmly believes he won the fight in a dominant 9-3 fashion. Logically, this almost guarantees he won't take the rematch but instead goes down the gaslighting route again.

He asserts he won the fight with a 116-111 UD (at least he didn't dispute the knockdown in the 9th). So why would he want to do the rematch? Especially since the financial situation will be reversed. Fury got around 100 million USD for the match, and Usyk received about one-third of that amount. According to their contract, the rematch would see Usyk getting 100 million USD and Fury only a third of that.

Why would Fury want that? It's not just about money; he wants to be the A-side as well. He absolutely won't have a fight where the middleweight, whom he now claims he beat the first time around, will get significantly more money than him. Remember, this is the guy who, back in 2018-2019, demanded more money as a beltless challenger than the reigning unified champion and still undefeated Joshua. Speaking of Joshua, that fight would land him much more than the Usyk rematch.

Whatever he says, Fury knows his toughest challenge ever is to beat Usyk. He knows how badly hurt he was in the 9th, and he knows he was hit more by Usyk than by anyone ever before. Heck, he was hit more than Joshua was by Usyk. Also, Fury gave him all he could: body shots, uppercuts that ended Whyte – and still, the middleweight kept coming at him, beating him. Usyk was still pushing the action, getting close, landing shots, and hurting him so badly he forgot what month it was and thought it was around New Year's Eve. Remember what Duke, Apollo Creed's trainer, said to Apollo in Rocky II: "We don't need that kind of man in our life."

Fury is a prolific s**t talker, but he is not stupid. He knows what is what. He knows he lost that fight. Despite his best efforts, cutting weight, training properly, and fighting his best fight in years, he was beaten fair and square. Why would you want that all over again in six months for far less money as the B-side, instead of cashing in against Joshua? He will see Joshua as the easier fight for sure, so it ticks all the boxes. Fury will duck the rematch, folks. He will claim he was robbed due to the war in Ukraine, the match was fixed, he beat the middleweight 9-3 and he doesn't need to beat him again to prove anything, he would only be robbed again and so on and so forth–and his army of gullible casuals will lap it all up just like all the other nonsense he said over the years.

If Fury doesn't take the rematch his entire legacy and reputation is in pieces

At least Joshua stepped up for the Usyk rematch immediately and his mental implosion came post fight.....

Fury's mental breakdown is masked as delusion

Why would Fury pass on the possibility of getting revenge ? Usyk didn't dominate him. The fight was dead even until Usyk rocked him badly and took the lead for the rest of the fight. A reason for that was Usyk's superior conditioning and stamina. Who's to say Usyk doesn't age overnight and loses that advantage ? Especially with his cardio reliant style. Who's to say Fury can't fight a better fight and keep the fight close until the end to possibly nick out a win ? An Usyk win is far from a predetermined conclusion, despite it still being the more likely scenario.

Fury doesn't strike me as a man who would rather milk his robbery excuse than actually avenge his only loss. Joshua is still an important fight money wise, but let's not pretend that Fury doesn't care about his legacy at all.

I am 50-50 on whether Fury will take this or not.

Fact is he tried to age out Usyk. This fight could have been made in 2022. Joshua was willing to take step aside money. Hell, this fight could have even been made as early as March 2023.

He is on video saying he wouldn't fight Usyk even if Usyk beat Joshua (before Usyk - Joshua 1) because Usyk is a foreigner who doesn't speak good English.

Turki probably has an iron clad contract so he may force Tyson to fight Usyk again. This is why i am 50-50 on this.

Usyk was leading 5-3 going into the 9th round, mate–and even that's generous, assuming he won round 4.

People also said Fury cut his own face with a razor because he would never fight Uysk the first time.

Didn't Fury haters say he wouldn't take the first fight?

    A real clever bunch.

Fury did well the first fight and even despite the scorecard you've got to like your chances in the second fight if you are in the Fury camp.

And if nothing else $$$ for a fight with less pressure

I don't think he is going to make it. I respect those who say that he will, but I think we are going to see another post-Klitschko meltdown. He can't take stress at all, which is why he was good for a post-Wilder rematch....he could conceivably say he really won the first, but not a post-Klitschko rematch...he had the stress of the VADA situation.

Well, some had their doubts and those doubts weren’t without justification.

Bottom line, if the fight had come off in Feb24, Fury wasn’t anywhere near in the condition he got himself into by May.

I think Usyk fans were clever enough to predict Olek as the winner and also foretell that Fury wouldn’t suddenly morph into the MAN (that he’s never been) after the fact of his defeat.

I think Usyk fans can live with the fact (actually celebrate it) that Fury, after multiple side steps, undue delays for which ONLY Fury was to blame, did finally drag himself into the ring to get his ass kicked by Olek. :D

Does anyone even have a legitimate source for the purses? I can´t find one, besides that clickbait site that clearly comes up with BS numbers. Seems like everyone is running with what they put out.

In fairness, Fury - generally (but not exclusively) - goes through with fights once signed.
But I don't at all blame those who think he will pull out. The Klitschko rematch never happened. He did then drop out of boxing all together. The first Usyk fight was delayed. And he has a long history of messing other fighters around and being economical with the truth - this is entirely self inflicted. So I think either position is perfectly reasonable to take.

Usyk UDs him in the re-match.

AJ KOs him in the "Summer of 25" mega fight.

Fury is flawed and boxers are starting to see these flaws. No shame, we are all human and flawed.
