I firmly believe that additional conditioning and muscle does improve punch resistence/chin!

When someone argues with an example of a roidhead with no chin, I just think, "imagine how much worse they would be without roids lol".

Most likely, yes. Anabolic steroids make the CNS more robust. That’s why guy on a tren cycle can put 100 pounds on their bench in a few weeks. Probably more resilient to getting the lights switched off.

If roids play a part in taking you from a Steve Urkel neck to a Mike Tyson one, it can only help.

Mmmm…brother, there is no drug in this world, anabolic steroids or not - that would allow a man to add 100lbs to his bench press in a few weeks. And tren is definitely not the steroid for major strength gains; that would be dinabol.

Yep agree with this. Anybody can be hurt with a good punch but being juiced up gives you more confidence and stamina. Fighters a lot of the time are more likely to get hurt when they are tired or make a mistake the juice helps not only with stamina and strength but also focus. Someone on the juice can still be hurt and knocked out but it certainly lowers the chance of that happening.

Roy Jones Jr would like to chime in. Roid does not make your chin beater.

I think they did help his chin seeing he didn't get it cracked until he was older.

Generally most of the androgen receptors in a male are in the neck and traps. On steriods most men are going to get the biggest strength gains in the neck area so yeah it probably can help punch resistance. Legs have the least androgen receptors generally.

C'mon! It's well known that you can't train a chin. And you can't take some magic pill and suddenly go from glass to granite, either:nono:

If you have a glass jaw, you're gonna take some canvas naps no matter what you do. That's why having a solid chin is SO important in boxing.:sisi1

I thought it only takes 6-7 pounds of pressure to crack the jaw - KO a human?:ggg

how much more could roids improve the jaw muscles?

He was fast enough to never eat a flush punch until Tarver landed one. I could be wrong but I do not recall Roy eating one.

I guess it would yes, anything that's been scientifically proven I'd usually go along with.

But for things like octarine and all these other banned drugs, I'm not so sure tbh. I think they need to reassess what substances are actually dangerous for fighters to consume. There's just something about have even 0.1 ounce/mg of trace in your system and being labelled as a drug cheat that doesn't sit right with me.
