That is what pound for pound was originally created to decide but in more recent times resume has become a big factor for most people too. In my opinion Usyks resume and weight climbing is too impressive not to put him at #1, even if I do think Inoue would stop him and everybody else P4P
Inoue is way better defensively than this version of Canelo, It’s not even close. Distance management and footwork are defense, and even Inoues headmovement is better nowadays. The only thing I would still give this version of Canelo over Inoue defense wise is his active guard, parries and controls unless I’m forgetting something
1. Usyk 2. Inoue (Pickem between 1 and 2) Daylight 3. Beterbiev 4. Crawford 5. Bivol (Pickem 3,4,5, see how Bud goes in next fight) More Daylight Bam well above Saul who is well above Tank.
Twink fans are not serious boxing fans, well at least the ones who rate him high P4P aren't and anyone who has any experience dealing with them on social media knows what clowns they are.
Inoue, Crawford and Usyk are the three headed # 1 hyrda. Any of them can be called # 1 and there really shouldn't be an argument.
P4P is a popularity contest. There will always be 3 or so who can be argued by their fan base why he is the p4p #1.
When I think of #1 P4P I think of "Who is the best at boxing". I think Terence Crawford is the clear best. I can see a solid case for it being Usyk just based on what he accomplished in defeating Tyson Fury. I don't see an argument for Inoue being #1 yet. He's absolutely within the top 3, but I can't see him being the #1 in the world over Usyk or Bud.
Thats not how boxing works. Obviously the heavier you are the less the weight difference matters. Dubious beat Miller who outweighed him by 99 pounds. Obviously that would never happen with smaller fighter unless you think Inoue would beat Okolie.
How? Loma is more skilled, has a better resume, and has challenged himself more than Crawford has. What metric can be used where Loma does not beat Bud? I've just never been as impressed by Bud as most others are and his resume has always been poor as well as having asterisks around his best wins.
I know that what I wrote wasn't technically 100% in fighting terms I was just highlighting the weight and height difference if put in lower divisions to give an example of the significance but not disagreeing with you
