JJ Joyce beaten on countback 11-11 after recieving a bull**** public warning in the first. The ref was a disgrace but the irish team seemed to have got the tactics wrong then paniced a bit in the corner.
Fair play to Joyce he kept going even when he was 5-1 down after the first showed great heart and will be back strong for 2012.

That Cork promotion does sound value for money.Puca do you know the full undercard of the Hyland promotion on the 6th of September. I might be going to that show.

Heard nothing about it but the three Hylands on it should sell it alone.
I think Eddie is defending the irish title against ohara.
The killarney promotion looks pricey for the boxers so far confirmed maybe they have something big coming anyone heard anything?

He's really up against it, if Nevin can win tomorrow there is a good chance he won't have to beat any tougher than the Mongolian.

Well done Kenny btw, another good performance and hard luck to Joyce who showed plenty of heart and grit but maybe not enough guile against a bullish opponent. I felt the 2 point warning was very harsh, especially that early.

I finally got to see Joyce's fight from earlier today... Tough way to lose a fight for Johnny Joyce... I'd much rather see 'em fight an extra round as opposed to letting a computer pick the winner... But to be honest, I've never liked the Olympic scoring system anyways...

I love amateur boxing, but I hate the scoring system, its a joke. Its about time, they looked at different method of judging.

Amateur boxing is classic, and in some instances it is failed amateur boxers that go into the pro ranks. But the amateur scoring system is disgraceful and a lot of times proves an injustice to some boxers skills and career. Some boxers too, get so undermined when the scoring runs right away from them unfairly!

Nevin los 9-2 took two counts in the third and was outclassed by a very good mongolian.Still two bouts in the olympics under his belt will help his development hugely.
