Who ranks higher as a heavyweight, Larry Holmes or Lennox Lewis?

So I guess he blew hot for Lewis but cold for Larry? Ok.

No offense, but I really couldn't care less if you rank Lewis higher than Larry. Honestly makes no difference to me. It's just opinion. And you may be right. Again, I just don't care enough either way to have a proper debate about it.
I chimed in with my opinion and that's it. Feel free to disagree.

It’s been said ad infinitum, but it’s tough & close. Although great, both are largely over-rated. I suppose I would marginally favour Holmes. Not a lot in it as Lewis beat the better opposition for mine, didn’t have Holmes’ run at the top or as long a competitive career overall, though.

Both back-end of the top ten.

 

I have Lewis at 3 and Holmes at 4.

But the top guys can all be argued higher or lower if you have a mind to.

 

This is it for me. They're 3&4, but for me, Lewis is higher four days of the week.

I have Holmes there but I also have not a single problem with Lennox instead. It's not my choice but it's completely rational and a pretty easy case to make if you want to make it. I prefer Holmes' undefeated run through his green and inexperienced days, his prime and his slightly past prime, along with his putting in legacy work when clearly past that, to Lennox's kind of astoundingly deep record of names and avenged losses and the additional titles held at once and going out BIG in the legacy department, beating everyone he faced. What Holmes did with Holy and Mercer as an oldie VS Lennox while young and Holy being older...it doesn't look great by comparing them for Lennox in that respect, but, again, you can easily make cases for both and they're good cases.

 

Lennox beat Vander TWICE!! The "draw" verdict was ludicrous, the secondfight was maybe closer but still a clear Lennox win. I have Lennox #3

 

I have Lennox lower, one punch Ko losses to Rahman and McCall simply cannot be ignored.....

 

Eh, common thread with both Holyfield and Mercer was their durability negating Lewis's power. Those were always going to be rough fights for him. And for Holmes, whose success was never based on assuming he can seriously hurt his opponent, well, who cares if the opponent is really durable?

It's not really a fair comparison to show their common opponents. It would be easy to think of fantasy fights that Lewis would dominate, but Holmes would struggle with. Like, say, anyone think Norton could go 15 rounds with Lewis like he did with Holmes? That **** would look like Lewis against Ruddock or Gant.
