Wilder brang views, he was an interesting character due to his demeanor and punching power. He could have made it into my HOF but then I saw a video of him twerking.

    I know
I think you are missing the point

I'm not saying he is an atg or anything either way

    I wrote
Look at some of the fighters that have made it to the hof for different reasons
Butter bean made it into the hof. He was a popular boxer

    Edit
Butter bean is not in the ibhof. My mistake

    Ehhh...

    Not especially.

His viewing figures were pretty terrible before he started pretending he might be willing to fight Joshua... They picked up a bit at that point (when a wider audience had actually heard of him) - then the Fury fights increased his profile again.

But broadly speaking? He wasn't a particularly big draw for most of his career, even most of his title run.

Butterbean is NOT in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

He was inducted into the Indiana Boxing Hall of Fame, which isn't even an actual place, it's just a website. And it's run by a former journeyman boxer on the midwestern circuit (Craig Houk), who now bartends at a place where a friend of mine goes. But don't talk to Craig, because he'll make you watch a youtube clip 75 times of him knocking down an ancient Camacho. ;)

Deontay Wilder is fifth all-time (in boxing history) when it comes to consecutive, successful Heavyweight Title defenses.

He's got more consecutive, successful heavyweight title defenses than all these guys - Jim Corbett, Bob Fitzsimmons, Jim Jeffries, Marvin Hart, Jack Johnson, Jess Willard, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, Max Schmeling, Jack Sharkey, Primo Carnera, Max Baer, Jim Braddock, Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott, Rocky Marciano, Floyd Patterson, Ingemar Johansson, Sonny Liston, Ernie Terrell, Jimmy Ellis, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Leon Spinks, Ken Norton, John Tate, Mike Weaver, Michael Dokes, Gerrie Coetzee, Greg Page, Tim Witherspoon, Tony Tubbs, Pinklon Thomas, Bonecrusher Smith, Michael Spinks, Mike Tyson, Trevor Berbick, Tony Tucker, Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe, Michael Moorer, Oliver McCall, Frank Bruno, Francesco Damiani, Ray Mercer, Tommy Morrison, Michael Bentt, Bruce Seldon, Henry Akinwande, Herbie Hide, Hasim Rahman, Oleg Maskaev, Sam Peter, Sultan Ibragimov, Shannon Briggs, Sergei Liakhovich, Ruslan Chagaev, Chris Byrd, John Ruiz, David Haye, Nikolay Valuev, Lamon Brewster, Charles Martin, Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker, Andy Ruiz, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Wilder's got the tenth longest single heavyweight title reign in all of heavyweight history.

    He's a lock.

You guys have a couple years to work through your stages of grief. Seems like you're on DENIAL and transitioning into BARGAINING now.

You'll get there. One step at a time.:borra2:

My mistake thinking Butter bean was in the ibhof
    Yep. I got that wrong
Not sure what stage of grief or denial you feel I am in
    My first post was
that was in reference to the fighters named on the thread title and not singling out any one of them

And even then, assumed decent more than proven decent...

It's a long run, and he'll probably get in for that, but it's still a poor run IMHO.

Forget Butterbean, Rocky Balboa is in the IBHOF.

And Rocky Balboa has a statue in Philadelphia even though that city has its good boxers like our friend Bernard Hopkins. Also Joe Frazier. Frazier and Hopkins havent got a statue but a fictional boxer does.

Which explains why his nuts are in your mouth, but the problem is, the guys he defended against were garbage.

    Yes exactly
That was what I was saying in my first post that Boxers and people involved get in for all different reasons
I was thinking about Stallone and some of the promotors

Stallone is in as a non-participant. Two different things completely. In my humble opinion, Stallone undoubtedly deserves the honor.

And Frazier does have a statue, granted it wasn't there until 2015. But better late than never.

Exactly. And Stallone's statue was a movie prop that was put up for the film Rocky 3, and they just left it up for tourists. The city didn't commission it or anything. The Hall of Fame didn't. Sylvester Stallone did.

    What a weird post.

He went 49-0 with 33 kos
Neilsen notable opponents up to that time
    James bone crusher Smith
    Tony Tubbs
    Larry Holmes
    Peter McNeely
    Tim Witherspoon
    Ross Purity
    Phil Jackson

    Just a question
