I really do respect Ali and thank him for what he did for the sport. But id be lying if I didnt say he was REALLY DAMN ANNOYING during Foremans 1v5. ESPECIALLY during the 4th fight against polite. If I hear “hit the ropes!” Or “play the ropes!” One more time im going to spaz out. Even the other commentator got annoying to the point of saying “theres simply no shutting up Muhammed Ali now.”
I agree. Past a certain point (Mostly post Thrilla) he seems so insufferable to me, because it was simply just an act at that point. The only things that he made me laugh with past then (Not that he always made me laugh in his prime joke years) were him rubbing Shavers' head, calling Earnie "The Acorn", and calling himself Dark Gable after growing a mustache.
I’m not into belittling opponents so I’ve always had a little reservation about liking Ali much he could be funny but by the 70s he was mostly repeating himself and using the same old jokes.
Terrell knew Ali, too. When he said, "You told me a couple years ago that your name was Cassius Clay", he was being legitimate. This content is protected
Terrell if you’re really talking just one night. Manila leadup if you’re talking more than one night. The Foreman exhibition was just a freak show on all levels so I am not so bothered by that.
Mad at the louisville lip for talking too much when given some mic over a big fight with Foreman lmao. Ali was one of the biggest chads ever. Of course he was annoying. He took pride in annoying everyone in the room. Ali was like a cute kind hyper boy scout who'd brag about dumb badges and camp stories then somehow beat up bears that invade the tent. It's hilarious
Ali had insecurities. He absolutely had to be the center of attention. Just don't care for the man and never did. What he put Frazier through was pretty sick. Didn't care for it or his behavior in general.
I recently saw his meeting with Wilt Chamberlain, when an exhibition bout was being discussed between the two. Ali’s insecurity was through the roof. Chamberlain was more than a good sport.
Damn straight. that's how life works. short guys get ****. ugly guys get ****. They deserve it. Ali was neither and only losers deny that he was better than everyone else. He was extremely annoying very often.
