    Joe Louis.

If we're going by really old, then maybe John L. Sullivan as well since descriptively speaking he was known as a ridiculously quick, economic puncher who set up his punches well with deadly accuracy. I don't think Bowe's leaky defense would do well against someone like that, especially if Sully was really as good and as powerful as his contemporaries thought he was.

    Liston first of all.

I also think Frazier stylistically would have Bowe in Hell judging by his fights with Evander. Joe Louis would be a rough one for him, I'd like to say Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe but I have a hard time seeing guys that are under 200 beating Bowe. Liston, Frazier and Louis definitely though.

Guys like Fraizer that would be in his chest and punch when he punched and really willing to trade and were durable, Louis' power and handspeed, and his feet, Liston having a far better jab and cross, yeah he'd be up against it.

Joe Louis. David vs Goliath, the latter stopped in 6.

Liston. Bowe just got hit too much. Bowe done in 5.

Dempsey, Tunney, Louis, Liston would all stand a chance. Bowe was a dirty fighter and those old timers knew how to roughhouse and handle dirty fighters, especially Dempsey and Tunney.

Tons of guys - I’d favour Jersey Joe Walcott to stop him and Schemling they’d just patiently break him down. I’d even put Baer up to the task.

Depending upon what you consider old time, I would say none that I can think of.

Bowe said he thought that Walcott would be a tough opponent for him but that he would catch Walcott late and stop him. I think that's realistic.

Definitely, think of it as an echo of his match with Tubbs.
