Joseph Obey Joyce vs. Derek Chisora & Dennis McCann vs. Ionut Baluta II - RBR.

Great display of skills, power and courage from Chisora. Deservedly won last night. I had it abit closer than the judges. Chisora landed the cleaner, better work. The knockdown swung it his way, for sure. I'd like to see him retire now, or maybe one last fight with Whyte if he fancies it.

As for Joyce, I can't see where he goes now. Zhang really did take his invincibility from him. He looks slow and ponderous.

 

AJ smashes Joyce 18 months ago or now whenever he feels like it.

 

Completely agree, I thought Joyce won fairly clearly and the fix was in. Joyce was awful though…Warren must be lining up chisora for Dubois after he gets battered by Joshua or something. Joyce isn’t marketable now he’s had his chin cracked by Zhang so he’s not going to get decisions anymore.

 

Joyce was ****ing awful.

Chisora is so one dimensional its unreal, I know Joe isn't the brightest, but ****ing hell that was laughable and Joyce deserved to lose.

Will probably see a rematch in Manchester after the "slugfest" hype.

 

Can't have this Chisora hype carrying on, it's ridiculous, put him in with Zhang and watch him get battered to a pulp.

 

Can see Chisora v Wilder next in the 'shot to bits' World Title on DAZN UK Box Office.

Should he come through Washed Up Wilder as expected, he should defend his title against Iron Mike Tyson in his 50th and final fight.

 

Zhang to Joyce feels a bit like what Thompsonw as to Price

 

If by that you mean exposing him, I’d agree.

I don’t think Zhang ruined Joyce. Joe is a face fighter with absolutely no defensive skill or instinct and that was always going to catch up with him. I don’t think he’s progressed any since he started.

You’d think after the Zhang fights, he’d have doubled down on improving his defense and not wait for every single receipt a guy throws his way, but nope.

Winners adjust. Losers make excuses. It has always been so in sport. Joyce hasn’t made a single adjustment to make himself even the slightest bit harder to hit. Everything lands and it lands flush.

Price had a weak chin (not much to do about that) and gassed our terribly in fights (which he never seemed to be able to improve his stamina).

 

Joyce is definitely damaged goods from them Zhang fights

But Joyce has two very solid world level wins vs Parker and Dubois.

 

Too bad he didn’t get more experience and learn how to avoid punches and flushed those two wins down the toilet.

He’s 1-3 in his last four fights. Been stopped or knocked down in two of them. He’s washed.

 

Yeah the lack of ever improving his defence has been his downfall, it makes no sense. But remember everyone was talking about how he had the best chin in the game before the Zhang fights. He had too much confidence in his chin.

Taking the Zhang fight when he never needed to was one of the dumbest decisions ever, Up there with Cleverly choosing Kovalev as a voluntary defence. Then after that stupidly taking the rematch!

 

Remember Tel O'Connor carrying Cleverly back to his corner at the end of the round he was pummelled in?

 

It has been spoken about since Saturday night.

 

I watched it back and still have Joyce Winning by 3 rounds
