We both know that between those 3, Berlanga was the smart choice.

 

Is there any champion that doesn’t do that? Mayweather, Pacquiao, k brothers, Cotto, all of them did it. You’re picking on Cottos resume but Crawford just fought a guy with 10 fights and Benavidez just brought a guy out of semi retirement.

 

Actually it feels strange or wrong agreeing with this but yeah!

 

Canelo picks a lot of soft touches, I agree, but he has also fought guys like Bivol and Golovkin who are not 'soft' by any definition. To be fair he is maximizing his earning potential by doing some hard fights and cashing out on the rest. Would be nice to see the Benavidez fight but idk if we ever will.

 

Berlanga is a punching bag compared to Crawford

 

I mean yeah, but at least he is not jumping 3 division in a row to fight Canelo and is younger too. Dubois is a punching bag compared to Inoue.

Crawford vs Berlanga or any 168lber not named Canelo would be wise / Smart & how to strategically work your way up to that weight class to take on the 2 time undisputed Champ… especially since Crawford is coming up from 147lbs - it wreaks of cash out.

hell if he is really serious about wanting Canelo just take on Benevidez & get him out the way- I mean what the difference at that point 168lbs is 168lbs right?

 

Except Canelo isn't a natural 168. He's a blown up 154 himself. Crawford is actually taller and has longer reach than Canelo

 

The point isn't Canelo vs. Crawford... you guys using that to justify the trash berlanga fight is embarrassing.

The point is Canelo is flagrantly ducking Benavidez. That is THE fight. It'll never happen.
