Mexican Independence Day weekend (September fourteenth to be precise) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. WBC, WBO and WBA super middleweight titles on the line - Álvarez's 8th, 6th, and 1st defenses respectively.

Berlanga is the Ring Magazine and WBC #9, WBO & IBF #4, and WBA mandatory #1 ranked contender at 168lbs. He will be the champion's second consecutive undefeated challenger, and thirteenth overall unbeaten opponent in Álvarez's pro career. (not counting debutants and novices with zero wins)

Berlanga has 5½" of height and 2½" of reach on Álvarez. The champ has thrice as much ring experience - and still has more than Berlanga even if you factor in the boricua's time in the amateurs.

Yet another chapter in the bitter Mexico vs. Puerto Rico feud in boxing. :ggg

I couldn't place it until now (what celeb it was, tickling my brain) but...Canelo in his thirties is basically a dead ringer for Chris Platt. :sisi1

Berlanga if you squint is kind of like a Latino youngish Jon Bernthal.

So basically we're getting StarLord vs. Punisher! :ibutt

The so-called KO monster Berlanga has scored 1 KO in his last 6 fights. He struggled badly vs fringe contenders Marcelo Coceres and Steve Rolls. He has no chance here and is perfect opponent for Canelo stylewise - big, slow, unskilled.

    Canelo by 5th round KO

Disgraceful mismatch, the biggest since Avni Yildirim. Complete waste of time for everyone, except for Berlanga who can finally cash out his zero for a big paycheck.

Berlanga was going get stopped anyway, but now he's really going to get it! He pissed Canelo off and annoyed him. Canelo going to enjoy beating him up.

Canelo is going to knock Edgar the **** out so hard, when he wakes up he'll think he's Jon Bernthal and that he's been violently assaulted by The Sherminator dressed up like Star-Lord.:sisi1

Canelo actually appeared angry at Berlanga at the press conference. Maybe it will translate over to a ko.

He also seemed like he wanted to rip Eddie Hearn's head off a couple of days ago. Roid raging left and right recently. :sisi1

This match is gonna be so lopsided, I doubt I participate in the RBR :lol:

Berlanga should already have 2 losses, and those losses would be to guys that aren't even top 20 at SMW

It seems like there's a lot of cognitive dissonance going on with Berlanga under his brash exterior. Does he not realize that, rankings aside, he's only in this position to be considered for the Canelo Box Office Sweepstakes because of the leftover hype from his Tyrone Brunsonesque run to start his career? (16 consecutive victories by KO1, over nobody special)

"I don't hit like GGG or Mandingo" - yeah, and Canelo doesn't fight like anybody you've faced...the best of which is what, mid ass Jason Quigley?

Thanks for the diversion from this totally rubbish triple alphabelt presentation.
In Kevin Costner’s new western, “Horizon,” I. immediately thought Sam Worthington was a ringer for Mr Entitlement. Right down to his hair colour/color and chunky build.
