Tua vs Joshua

Tua by brutal early ko . Not nice

 

The Tua that fought Ike Ibeabuchi would beat any version of Joshua.
He was simply a better fighter.
After that fight, it's very possible The best version of Joshua beats Tua.
Tua for what ever the reason seemed to depend on landing the "big shot" instead of setting it up.
Against the best fighters he faced it never came.

 

Andy Ruiz is better then David Tua and has more layers to him then holding his gloves up to close the distance. AJ is a big step above Tua, I don’t think AJ is some unstoppable barbarian warlord of the future either.

 

I don't see any evidence that Ruiz is better than Tua sure he has quicker hands but outside of the freak Joshua upset he hasn't really impressed in any of his other fights.

I mean recently Ruiz just got a total gift draw vs Miller that pretty much everyone thought he lost.

I would also favour Tua to beat Ruiz in a H2H match up I mean this is the same Ruiz who was floored and struggled immensely vs a shot Arreola.

Ruiz isn't as good as you think he is he has some talent and quick hands but he has cement feet and no dedication to the sport.

 

He’s just better than Tua I didn’t say he was anything special - I can watch them and see for myself Ruiz is a better fighter.
Ruiz has fallen off he squandered his career as far as I can tell.
Tua outside of bum rushing Moorer and Ruiz didn’t do anything let alone beat the best active HW of the time.

 

Watch Ruiz vs Liakhovich, Arreola, Ortiz, and then comeback and tell me you think hes a better fighter.

 

AJ should be able to outpoint Tua from the outside, he's a very big puncher himself which would make Tua a bit cautious, regardless of the iron chin. AJ UD would be my pick.

But, this isn't pillow puncher Ruiz. Tua has legit dynamite in his hands and carried his power late. AJ would have to be extremely focused and composed for 12 rounds.

 

Tua lost every important fight of his career...why stop now?

 

Joshua UD provided he boxes sensibly as in Parker and Ruiz II.

 

Gotta favor Joshua in this one...

 

Dare I say it, I think that Andy was more dangerous than Tua could be. AJ UD.

 

Everything Ruiz does David Tua in shape did better. The thing is David Tua in his prime was always in better shape than Ruiz. Joshua doesn't have the power to hurt Tua. He doesn't have the stamina to move all night and stay away from Tua. Tua wins by KO every time.

 

More dangerous in what way? Ruiz has fast counters, but he doesn't have half the power Tua had and he can't fight at a high pace either. Tua was limited but he was dangerous from round 1 to round 12. Ruiz isn't.

 

Ruiz was one of only two men to ever deck Joshua, and he did so four times in the span of one bout. Tua WAS extremely dangerous at the start of a bout, but if he didn't get you out of there, his destructiveness decreased as the match went on- Whereas Ruiz had much more viability in his punches as the rounds got on, leading for him to turn out more dangerous.

 

Ruiz has never knocked anyone out after the 8th round and he only has one 8th round knockout in his career. Tua has scored several (comeback) knockouts much later into fights, I'd say he carried his power better into the later rounds than Ruiz did.

I've watched Ruiz tee off on too many old or chinny guys (Liakhovich, Zumbano Love, 41 year old Arreola, 43 year old Ortiz) without being able to put them away to say he was more dangerous than Tua.

The first AJ fight made him seem more powerful than he was. He only has a 60% knockout ratio for a reason.
