Not only that, Adesanya went all in in the 3rd as he got the news from the corner he was 2-0 down. He gassed hard in the 4th because of this and gave his neck up to DDP in submission. People on twitter talking about how Izzy was on his way to an easy decision after "taking over in the 3rd" are patently wrong. Izzy leaves behind a decent legacy; but he lost mnay times in his weight division and lost at LHW. So he's a champion with a great MW record albeit in a very young sport, with not many records to boast about anyway.
i had ddp to win it, did not see him getting the sub. Adesanya fell for some sloppy ****, he's hit the wall. The punches he got hit with could have been prevented.
DDP fights like the special ed kid on steroids, he looks gassed after like 2 rounds but in reality it’s his final boss form
I don’t think Izzy is who he once was, seems like he had so many opportunities to counter Dricus but deliberately chose not to, either out of a lack of confidence or out of respect for his chin. There were also weird moments where Izzy would casually walk away as DDP mounted offense as a way to defend himself. Just a bizarre performance by Adesanya
He got too emotional pre fight and went in with too much intensity, wanting to prove a point. His older self would have just run and pivoted away from these punches. He wanted to stand there and try to recreate a Perriera ko moment.
That style has always caused him issues. Izzy looked pretty good out there. He just lost to the better man.
